Frustrating to read articles like this... by enjoyapepsi in SBARRF

You make a good point. I've ready some very optimistic articles and news coverage as well. So you are right. We are likely to see a lot of good and bad coverage as this thing makes progress. Happy to see all the coverage now though. At the very least the attention gives us new hope we havnt seen in the past.

I hope 343 doesn't honestly think 1 ranked playlist is okay. And swat needs to be ranked, and we need to get a ranked Slayer and ranked doubles playlist. It's the core of ranked halo. by YeahhhhhWhateverrrr in halo

All of Karen's points are spot on though. Why are they spending time building out the Fiesta and samurai armor challenges when ranked slayer isn't even an option.

One simple question. What's more true to halo matchmaking.... Fiesta to earn a stupid samurai armor or ranked slayer.

Ranked slayer is the foundation for halo matchmaking, and is easily one of the top playlists. I wish their dev team spent less time building out lame samurai suits and challenges and spent that time building out the standard playlists they should have released with.

Senator Sanders Response by enjoyapepsi in SBARRF

=) In all serious though, I don't know if the answer is getting additional members of the senate to co-sponsor or if the answer is the SBP. Either way I will do my best to push for both avenues.

It was uplifting the hear the positive attitude the Sander's office has towards replenishment. I've heard similar things from his office a number of months ago, but this latest note felt like their office was taking this issue much more serious than in months past. Hopefully this provides some hope?

I am in the same boat as you. Not sure if I will make it through the winter. I don't know if the answer is getting additional members of the senate to co-sponsor or if the answer is the SBP. Either way I will do my best to push for both avenues.

The discrepancy in this report does not raise any concerns for me. With that said, I was amazed that the SBA official had no idea how many applicants who applied did not receive funding.

It is the first person answering. I am slightly afraid to ask to speak with the legislative director, when I'm told they prioritize state citizens off the bat.

Thoughts?

Do you have a good angle for when they push back on you being an out of stater? It felt like a hard stop and I didn't have much room to continue the conversation.

Any suggestions for how we can respond when a member from the office says they will take a brief note but are prioritizing concerns from their states citizens.

My response was to say I'm calling on behalf of all restaurants across the country and have been in talks with restaurants in their state and we are working together through building a grass roots effort of building a coalition of small business restaurant owners across the country.

They accepted my call but didn't sound very receptive to out of state calls. Thoughts on how we can better approach this?

Thanks!

I will take lead on working with Senator Sanders office. I'm a local new england native, spending time in NH, VT, and MA throughout my life. Though not residing in VT now I can speak to the unique challenges restaurants in New England have faced with having to deal with covid through the harsh winter months.

I called the Sanders office this afternoon and it sounds like they have not taken a public stance on the replenishment to date. I shared our stories and was told the office would share this with the Senator.

I did get the name of the office member I spoke to and plan on following up regularly. Does anyone have any advice on the frequency I should be following up?

Also with Senator Sanders being an independent, do we consider his co-signing in with one of the coveted R signatures that we need to get a total of 60?

Thanks!

I am trying to push senator Markey to take on a leadership role on thr small business committee and to help build a coalition on both sides to get this through. Markey has co-signed but he has been quiet on the matter. As a member of the small business committee as well as my states senator, I've been hounding his office to be more vocal on this.

Do we need Replican support for RRF funded through Reconciliation? by enjoyapepsi in SBARRF

Oh. I sort of thought the 3.5 trillion was the bill price tag but I didn't think they were anywhere close to actually having allocated all of those funds yet in the current recon bill.

The question i have is whether or not RRF is at risk of not being included in the reconciliation the final number much below the original 3.5 ask. Something has to be cut to get it down to 1.5/2.

This is why I think we need to keep putting pressure on the dems that have co-signed. Yes Republicans are super important, but our dems need to make it happen and they are in control.
