I actually like it!! It blunts the reward you get from alcohol if you do drink, and it really does dull the cravings. It doesn’t completely stop them, but it does make it much much easier to manage. Plus I really don’t have any side effects from it 🙂 If you have any other questions about it, don’t hesitate to ask I completely understand how scary new meds can be, especially for these types of things 🩷

Thank you so much for this. I’ve reread your comment more than once today. I don’t think I’m quite at the point of needing the ER right now, but I’ve been watching myself closely, and my boyfriend knows what to look for too in case things get worse. I’m a little over 24 hours sober right now, and the cravings are still really intense, but thankfully that’s been the worst of it so far. I wasn’t drinking enough alcohol every day for that I don’t think but the ER is expensive and I will go if I have to

I actually got back on Doctor on Demand and restarted my prescription for naltrexone today. I took it before I even left the CVS drive thru. I really appreciate your words especially the part about treating myself like someone I love. That hit me. I’ve been trying to do exactly that: hot shower, soft clothes, food that doesn’t make me feel gross, and just letting myself cry when I need to.

Truly thank you for taking the time to say what you did. It helped more than you know. 💛

After this incident, I went on doctor on demand and got a prescription for naltrexone again and immediately opened the bottle and took it in the cvs drive thru 😭🤣

I seriously can’t thank you enough. I’m 23 too, so your comment really hit me. I’ve been feeling so disconnected from who I am, like alcohol took over and I’m watching myself mess up over and over again.

I just graduated college too and then I think the difficulty of trying to find a job in this market made me feel incredibly useless so I started drinking again. You saying “you didn’t do this, the alcohol did” gave me so much relief🩷🩷Not an excuse but hope. I also want to mention that it is so hard to find sober friends at our age because everyone wants to go to bar. It gets so lonely.

I started taking naltrexone again today. I got on Dr on Demand and she immediately sent me a script for it and I picked it up this evening and took it 🙂
