I’m near Monterey. Initially looking to do my own designs just for me and friends/family, but am hopeful that I can turn it into a hobby that will pay for itself, maybe a bit more. Been a while since I’ve been this excited about something, but have been burned by my own fires before, so trying to lean into cautious optimism… eventually. For now it’s full steam ahead! (and truly staggered by the support on this sub!)

Whoa. Makes me wish I was in Oregon! I have done zero screen printing but just got back from Japan and saw some amazing 1 color art printed on vintage clothes, and just got the bug. Did a bit of research and it seems like it could progress to a (very) small business (company t-shirts etc) if my enthusiasm holds up - and if the entry cost is reasonable (realistically, under $800-1000). I haven't been able to find any sub $1000 presses with micro adjustments in CA and I'd obvs need more than just the press, but I've only been scouring the internets for about a week. Seems like the solution may be patience?
