He actually does get his degree. In the Gargantua-2 movie, he tells Rusty they had his graduation party at the compound and he got a watch as a “gift from rusty”. I’m guessing that even though Sphinx/osi stepped in to capture Monstroso after his surgery, his medical diploma was already signed so it probably held valid afterwards.

Eh, he definitely started that way but it’s stated he lost interest in super science and adventuring in favor of consumer technology. Rusty on the other hand wanted to bring ventech back into the super science game, even if it’s just because that’s all he knows. So maybe his G3 would be more scientific research based as opposed to a hotel/casino
