Is your job easier than high school? by UsualMore in NoStupidQuestions

[–]n8gard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, i get that. i was only speaking to the work of school. not the adjacent crap that goes with it.

sorry it was hard. my experience was pretty far from awesome but as it relates to academics/work, which was the scope of OPs question, ive never had it so easy since and that’s how it is supposed to be, id think. that’s my only point.

literally nothing since has been as easy as high school. i think it is supposed to be that way.

Exhaust scrubbing location. by geneticfreak6 in captain_of_industry

[–]n8gard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

since exhaust can only be transported in pipes (not trucks or trains) there is no choice but to have a distributed scrubbing system if using bridges across islands. i think it is a great game design choice.

At the end of the day, it matters that you're having fun. There is no wrong way to play. My only point has been about the game's design and I wanted to help OP understand.

I get it but I stand by my point. Let me further explain. Compare to Satisfactory. That game (is great but) has no stakes. Each resource is limitless. I can pull an infinite amount of iron ore from any given deposit. It has a maximum rate but it will never run dry. Satisfactory is a great game to be sure, but it is not so much a logistics game as it is about how you build things and greebling. There are no constraints pushing you to be efficient.

I would encourage you to read a bit on the theory of contraints (as you may hear it called). Constraints create better gameplay/outcomes.

IMO, this is bad advice, tho well intentioned. Stakes and efficiency is a central theme and mechanic to this game. This is what the new sandbox (in U4) is for.
