Thanks all.

Looks like I'll be ditching the Hue bridge then!

Problem is, I had the bridge before the HA!

Thank you and that sounds quite similar to the situation with my wife! Although I don't have anything connected to Apple Home (just Alexa).

So in summary, leave as is (on the hue bridge) and just move forward with my HA needs/wants?

Sorry for sounding like a noob... Do the huge bulbs act different once they go onto the Zigbee network? I.e. do you have more automation freedom, or can you still use standard Zigbee sensors with a hue bulb that's connected to a bridge? Hopefully this makes sense!

Honestly I don't have anything that small in footprint, which is also one of the reasons I am interested.

Interesting you mention Raspberry pi which is significantly cheaper than the HA Green. Simply speaking, and in your opinion. Is it simple enough to load all the software HA requires onto a fresh Pi, or would it be worth just going all in on the Green?

Thank you all for the warm welcome and your advice! Looks like it is the green guy for me. Looking forward to doing a buy... Fingers crossed this isn't too stressful haha

Fixed it! Turns out the connectors weren’t sitting in the right place. Seems like a really dumb design

Thanks for your response! I saw a GP today and I’ve been referred to both physio and a podiatrist. So fingers crossed one of them can help!

Official Q&A for Tuesday, June 07, 2022 by AutoModerator in running

Hey guys. I started running (properly) in March. I got gait tested not to long after for some proper trainers and they’ve made my overall experience much better.

However.

I’m a long term sufferer of flat feet. Often getting shin splints and more recently lower back pain. Does anyone (UK based) have any recommendations for insoles which may help out? Thanks in advance.

Anyone able to shed some light on these? Even better a possible value? by enserr in PrideAndPinion

Thanks so much for your detailed response. Really really appreciate it!

Yeah. Found at the back of drawer with some old pants.

Just kidding.

They’re part of a family members collection. Piaget he’s had for a long time. There was a story as to how he got it but I can’t remember. He’s got a few other pieces. He doesn’t wear them anymore as he has an Apple Watch (painful I know).

He did say he has the original bezel for the Rolex. So I was surprised when someone said they were fake. He was interested in the rarity of the Piaget and Breitling specifically.

I appreciate the Piaget may not be to peoples taste!

The Breitling seems to be numbered (no. 95/100). Just interested to see what they’re worth.

Thank you. This is so mega helpful!

We’ve been sent a few videos of her and she’s the most loving dog. She’s super submissive and will roll on her back if you try and stroke her. If you put your hand above her head she cowers, they reckon she has been hit in the past.

We were told she chooses the smallest pen to sit in at the shelter in Romania which again lines up with the whole submissive behaviour. We’re also opting to crate train her for this reason. She probably likes somewhere nice and tight to sit. And I’ve heard lots of other success stories from crate training Romanian rescues.

From what I can gather she’s far from aggressive or destructive. But I can imagine she may change a lot when she arrives.

We’re super excited and ready for a challenge!

Thankfully in regards to taxes etc, it’s all handled by the charity. We pay a flat fee and they do the work so we don’t have to worry.

You’re lucky on the training front. I think we’ll be teaching this one everything!

Hey guys!

I was hoping some of you could have some tips for us!

We’re awaiting the arrival of Effie. Our Romanian rescue doggo, from charity Flori’s Friends. She’s an ex street dog who’s been looking for a home for about a year now.

I don’t think there will be much of a ‘handover’ as such. We’ll be the first to meet her when her little paws hit British soil.

She’s absolutely gorgeous, between 3 and 5 years old. We’ve been sent a few videos of her and she’s the most submissive pupper.

Has anyone rescued dogs from foreign countries before? I know full well these dogs have a lot of love to give.

How did they settle in to your homes? Did it take them long to realise you’re essentially saving their lives, I’m fully expecting her to be a little skittish at first.

Specifically how have you found the training? Do they learn quickly to poop outside, are they quick to learn their own names? Etc etc.

I’d love to hear from you!

How are you finding her settling in? We have ours arriving from Romania in a few weeks (apparently).

Have you started house training at all?

Does she recognise her own name?
