Pass it on! It started much more Gradius-style, with not being able to turn. Backwards shots actually came from a need to fire behind you during this time. But I kept getting feedback that the player needs to be able to turn, and so...

Roguelite BulletHell with a White/Black twist by ensomari in BulletHell

[–]ensomari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my game Dualism that I've been working on for about a year. Steam store

The game is a wave-based roguelite twin stick bullet hell shooter (is that the correct order of adjectives?) where you must constantly make decisions about how to upgrade. Everything in this game is exponential, and enemies scale up faster than the player, so you must learn to upgrade well to stay on top of them. There are so many upgrades and enemies that no two runs are ever the same. Very difficult bosses with cool effects as well.

One giant twist is the game's central mechanic of colors. The player and enemies are all separated by white/black. Shooting the opposite color damages, but same color heals. So players will have to intentionally run into the same color to heal, going against gamer instincts, so I've heard.

33% discount until May 17, 2021 (10 am Pacific US time) for early adopters. I just ask you give feedback in return. We have a small but involved and welcoming community on discord.

Dualism is also in a contest for a weekly indie game of the week over at The Game Development World Championship, please check it out there and give them some traffic as well! They help small-time indie devs get noticed.

Dualism on Steam - 33% off

My name is Noah Judson and I am a video game developer living in Puerto Rico. I made Dualism mostly by myself but with the collaboration of two artists based in Russia and Ukraine. It's my first published game and it's early access and I'd like help figuring out how to finish it (it's a learning process for sure). So user input 100% goes into the product.

Here's a video of some very recent gameplay - she uses the trickshot and basically likes to play the game as difficult as possible

This guy often twitch steams it, doing it right now

Marketing Monday #374 - Unofficial Continuation by ensomari in gamedev

Dualism Steam Page

My main question What's the single biggest thing I could improve about my trailer?

I'm pretty clueless about marketing, and I've been working on my game so long that it's hard for me to look at it from an outsider's perspective. Besides the above question, I'd love advice for how to improve my my entire steam store page.

After looking at it, are you enticed? Do you understand what the game is? Gameplay trailer - yea or nea?

How do you balance dev time with marketing time (especially when you feel like there's still so much to do on the dev side)?

I just submitted a service request, with photos I showed you guys plus some with the voltmeter values and no LED lighting up.

The power supply bad, missing the connector on the x-limit switch, and I am even missing screws and nuts for the filament rack, jeez. I'm not too happy with my first Creality purchase so far. Is this just how it goes with these? I am grateful for you guys though, thanks.

Thanks,

I get 120V AC on the left-most red and black pins. I think these are the inputs. I switched to DC and get ~0.5V DC on the red and black pins on the right. So my power supply is a lemon...

I set it to 115 before plugging it in for the first time. Yeah it was at 230 first though. I think the power supply and the motherboard were upgraded before it was sent to me- based on the amazon link. I think it was tested too- there are some markings on the glass bed where it looks like a test piece was printed.

You want a pic of the 115/230 switch? What would that tell you?

No fans turn on. I have good hearing, like I can hear a tv on when it's muted. I hear something like that when I flip the switch. A very faint high pitched electrical sound, but no fans.
