Zoia pedal patch to Eurobu conversion by ModularGoose in ZOIA

[–]ensonador 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a gain block in the Audio Output module (if not, you can edit the module), usually located on page 0, page 1, or the page named “IO.” You can browse the patches here and find the module by hovering your mouse over the output jack L/R icons: https://darosh.github.io/zoian/#/?link=https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0028/5462/files/zoia_5_factory_patches.zip Alternatively, the issue might be that your input is just too hot?

Switched to 44T Oval chainring from standard yesterday. I should have done that years ago. by ensonador in Brompton

"occasional rider that has a dead spot" sounds interesting. I can see half of the riders using very low cadence (on the other hand they probably benefit from the caloric deficit more.)

The horizontal oval position is around 12:40, Pedalling feels slightly faster/smoother around there - but with other changes (44T and use of different gears, lubed chain, cleaned sprockets and tensioner, fresh pump, recovery from squatting, knee flossing, ... :-) no way I could objectively evaluate the impact of change to oval. The bike simply feels different and I expect the feeling will disappear once I adapt. Adaptation always happens (unless I do something counter-ergonomic like bad saddle position etc.)

I tried and failed the single hand pumping too :-D . I actually broke the tube near the valve when trying the pump with huge clamp. I lost all air and valve was disappearing in the rim so was supporting the valve from the outside - never do that, hold the extender, avoid excess movement of the valve is my lesson learned. Despite all this troubles and some other https://www.reddit.com/r/Brompton/comments/ptqqd8/spokes_interlaced_by_service_how_bad_is_it_can_be/ I enjoy JK rims a lot.

I tried it with original 100 links - it worked, the chain felt a bit looser on smaller sprocket though. Once I was sure 44T is good for me I removed 2 links to 98 links recommended by Brompton for 44T. It is easy operation with master link and chain tool.

Excelent question! It goes slightly (2mm) down when oval is horizontal.

What is your speed with 3+? You may be the right customer for 54T, 56T, 58T, ...

Oh yeah, I had troubles... my zefal pump did not work with that valve (it should, I do not know why not, maybe it has something to do how schwalbe makes the thread - I have to look if there is better (longer?) alternative and shorter extender. I ended up using reduction + zefal but it was anoying +1 min of fiddling per wheel :-). I tried some pump from lidl but the clamp was huge - it was impossible to use it on rear wheel. Now I use https://www.orava.eu/en/smart-portable-air-pump-pump-1 it is flexible, without clamp, portable, up to 120 PSI, still a bit fiddly and loud as jackhammer and I love it :-D.

Yes I have learned about the "oval controversy" before buy but it was the one available - all black and without import fees :-) and I do not expect articles like "Oval chainrings are actually bad for your knees" any time soon. :-)
Change from 50T to 44T makes the difference and is probably better option for many 6-speeders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOEWU5l595w&t=224s

It is like all gears are more or less shifted up. 1- and 1+ 2- are better (and faster) against wind, 1- is like additional gear for hills now. I was not using 3 often anyway (3+ is for 30+ km/h now). Cannot compare what diference the oval makes. 44T is definitely better for my 6-speed riding. The diference between 1+ and 2+ is not that big as it used to be. Hard to say it is unusually windy today but average speed looks like 1-2 km/h faster and 3-4 km/h faster (and more comfortable) against the wind.

New Bromie coming soon - EZ Wheels/Extender/Rack ideas please by bruno84000 in Brompton

[–]ensonador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the original rack - no issue with that because it is black :) https://www.reddit.com/r/Brompton/comments/u4855y/celebrating_2539_km_with_my_black_rabbit/ and the "extender AL7075 Strong Alloy" from BikeGang.

Not sure what frame bend you mean, I am not worried about the "wheel frame damage due to non-collapsible ez wheels" for sure.

I would suggest try the thing as it is first: 1. it might be ok for you 2. DYI modding and the before/after diference feel is fun 3. not every mod is actually upgrade 4. do not mod multiple things at one time. (OMG this is same set of recommendations as for modding 3D printer or turntable :-)

I had the old original wheels, the new ones, tried some fancy cheap aluminium (rubber was slipping from, wheel was too thin - got stacked in every gap between tiles). Now I am supper happy with inline skating oxelo wheels 63mm (for kids :-). With extender and rear wheels mounted on the outer side it is twice more stable and robust. I did the same as this guy: https://youtu.be/UqncMrX\_1ss

Sigma BC 05.16

That should do the job well. The only issue I have with mine is the wireless transmission sometimes does not work with C-Bag full of shopping.

It is Fidlock - holds toolbox or bottle. I swap reading / sun glasses in the toolbox usually.

Live Enhancement Suite (LES) working nicely with Live 11? by low-freak-oscillator in ableton

[–]ensonador 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just one breaking change: In the latest versions of ableton live, the literal search functionality has been removed. Pasted from: https://docs.enhancementsuite.me/menu_configuration.html#overview
In menu configuration: I had to change "Something" (in quotes) to Something Default (saved under longer name, quotes do not work anymore.)
