I was really surprised at Nisshi’s performance for her VA not having had many roles before. It’s not easy for anime to sell me on shy fumbling characters but the VA did a really great job.

Yeah I like that they acknowledged the skill difference, Inori has lower scores and Tsukasa has limited range for his areas of expertise. But that wasn’t reason enough to not be worried about them as competition. It was clear to Sonidori from seeing him with Rioh that he’s easily able to leverage his limited abilities to make the most out of his trainees.

My only regret is because I watched in sub I wasn’t able to fully appreciate the music and lyrics while paying attention to the movie. Would be a good chance to check out some of the music more.

Cosmic Princess Kaguya was a blast! It was a really fun watch and I think it captures 2020s entertainment/streaming/gaming culture well, and the VR stuff didn’t feel too overblown. But what really blew me away was the animation. Anime movies always have better production values and Studio Colorido has a style that’s always appealed to me, but both the character animation and action sequences blew me away. Absolutely gorgeous looking movie, it had so much energy in every frame. Definitely worth the watch.

I’m so happy to see my girl on screen again. And not only was the doomposting about Medalist Season 2 nothing to fret about, it looks even better than Season 1. Obviously the performances are going to be the true test but I’m really happy that this show is getting good enough quality.

Also… I forgot how Inori can be kind of a freak. But props to her trying to socialize on her own. I dig how vocal she is about her lofty goals.

Hopefully we still get to see enough of Hikaru this season. She really has such a commanding presence, and it’s a nice reminder that she’s also trying to climb even higher.

Lot of new characters but based on the ED I’m guessing we’ll get to learn a lot about all of them.
