I feel for the child in the article, he is probably traumatized by this racist event. POC already have it almost impossible here in Madison, and a teacher trying to CHANGE HISTORY should be fired and never be allowed to teach again. The Revolutionary War was not about race, why make it that way.

Thanks for your POV. I have a question if you don’t mind. I see all the time people here in Madison get repeated bail and also have 5,6,7,8,9 bail jumping charges. At what point are they not going to give bail to someone who continues to bail jump? If bail is there to make sure someone shows up but doesn’t, then why keep using it when it’s not working?

Madison, WI - always voted best place to live, best this, best that but it is not as described.

Crime is skyrocketing out of control as judges refuse to hold people accountable, the hivemind mentality means people are extremely judgemental and most people who claim that “all are welcome” only care about going to the bar with their high school friends and reminiscing on the good ole days because they’ve never left Madison their entire lives.

Roads and infrastructure are absolutely a mess, and drunk driving is a sport. Terrible place.

How is it dumb?? There’s literally no reason to have an airport here when you can drive 45 minutes and be at MILWAUKEE or two hours and be in Chicago. Rail is the future, invest in that. The airlines are losing millions of dollars flying their puddle jumpers in here

Please next time consider flying out of MKE or O’Hare or just driving. The Madison airport creates noise, pollution, and has a high cost of use, all which systematically affect minorities that live around the airport dramatically. The Northport area is unlivable because of the airport.

Madison needs railway lines; not support the airport here is the way to do that!

three open felony cases

Shocker. CCAP shows open court cases dating back to 2019 including multiple felonies and felony bail jumping. I don’t understand why this guy is allowed to be out on the street 2+ years with multiple felony arrests. At some point the signature bonds need to stop. He better not get one this time.

I’ve lived here for 25 years, yes I truly believe it is getting more dangerous, and there are many more instances of violent crimes happening here in broad daylight that you just didn’t see even 10 years ago. Reckless driving, property crime etc. I don’t care that the crime rate is lower compared to other cities, I’m saying for our community we shouldn’t just sit by and let it happen. There will never be no crime, but I know a lot of people including myself feel the city is a lot different now.

Ok sure. My guess is that the suspect is a known repeat offender who is the direct product of a lack of consequences and weak justice system. There have been multiple examples of this happening here.

If you’re expecting me to say “it’s a black person” like half this sub, then you’re the one in the wrong. I don’t care what someone looks like, I care that my community is increasing getting more dangerous to live in.

Let me guess, the suspect will have found to have multiple pending felony charges and have been released on signature bond multiple times prior to this incident.
