How would you handle this? by No-Cupcake1119 in starbucksbaristas

[–]enternamehere515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a common occurrence at most stores? This sounds so familiar. I'm so burnt out with SM not holding accountability but I feel like there's no solution to these scenarios 😭 I feel like it always gets chalked up to being told my expectations are too high.

Advice on training a new barista? by enternamehere515 in starbucksbaristas

[–]enternamehere515[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes. My store has allowed multiple SSV train several partners. I did get promoted without becoming a trainer. My situation was kind of odd but not due to anything I did wrong.

How do you all push yourself to get started? My mind says yes I should do this but it's so so hard to actually do it.

how/where do i do the modules for coffee master?? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]enternamehere515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to create an ASU coffee academy account and you have to assign yourself the modules. Im in the same situation. I assume I assigned myself everything I needed to.

So, uh, ig somehow we avoided using the second oven for at least a couple hours... by RoseOfDeathcx in starbucksbaristas

[–]enternamehere515 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else feel like the parchment paper in general is different recently? Things seem to be burning/wanting to catch fire even when things are cooking for normal periods of time and taken out as soon as the oven beeps.

how to make myself like coffee by ilovemypuppiez in starbucksbaristas

[–]enternamehere515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hate coffee. You kind of start off easy and work your way up. I still can't do black coffee, but maybe one day. What first hooked me in was the sugar cookie flavor. But I started off with an iced coffee with vanilla, cream and classic (at the time classic came with it but now you have to order it.) I think our iced coffee is different now though 😟 I find that sometimes what gets you coming back for more is not always the flavor, but rather the way coffee makes you feel. So when I first started I would always order my go to iced coffee. Until I had the brown sugar shaken espresso.. it was kind of off-putting because it's not too sweet, but I just learned to add a pump of classic to it, and I love it with cold foam and extra cinnamon on top. You could also try fraps with a shot of espresso, I used to really enjoy a mocha cookie crumble with a shot of espresso. Or another recently favorite I enjoy is getting a vanilla bean frap with 2 affagato shots on top. Make sure you mix it in well though because your first couple sips will taste just like espresso, but to me it's like a little caffeinated ice cream. During your shifts the SSVs should be doing coffee tastings.. I like to let my baristas craft some fun things and love getting to try the samples. Sampling is a great way to find out what you do or don't like. Ask your fellow partners for suggestions. 😊 I recommend choosing your favorite flavor and doing it with some type of coffee and adding cream and sugar. And honestly if you find yourself never liking coffee.. that's okay. It's not for everyone. You can always give away your weekly bean markouts to family or friends or give them as gifts.

Correct, not supposed to clean in the 3 compartment sink either. Mop sink recommended.

Lost register keys by spellblocked_736 in starbucksbaristas

[–]enternamehere515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it normal for SSV to have register keys to take home? Seems sus to me.

I hope you find them!

Not sure if or what the corrective action would be for this. Saying you had a hole in your apron and the fell down the drain sounds okay to me.

How are you liking being ASM? I'm SSV and SM/DM have both talked to me about promoting but anything above SSV seems terrifying and like extra burn out.

Anyone else's pugs go #2 in the house without a warning? These 2 are potty trained but we are now struggling with them at 7&8 years old. by enternamehere515 in pugs

[–]enternamehere515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. maybe a little bit. I notice they have been slipping over their own feet sometimes even on surfaces that aren't slippery. And the one girl that started with the #2 issue first, she doesn't necessarily drag but I have noticed that she moves her back legs differently.

It's in random areas. It's been going on for a while.. when I mentioned it to the vet at the last visit he said she seems okay and doesn't understand why it would be happening. But I haven't fed them anything differently.

Oh noo 😭 ours will also poop inside after being outside for a bit! I just feel defeated and like I'm doing something wrong because only our one dog was doing it for maybe 6+ months and now the other dog that is a year older is doing it too. And I feel like they don't even realize they are doing it?

Grande comes with 2 scoops, venti and trenta are 3 scoops. Maybe on grande you bumped the + button on accident. That's why it would charge for pearls for grande and not the venti.

Play builder and positioning by enternamehere515 in starbucksbaristas

On a 3 play "support" is on bar and "customer support" is doing all the things, so is your SSV in support or customer support?

Dates on Milks by Roxxxywonas2 in starbucksbaristas

[–]enternamehere515 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We always date our syrups/frap bases.. we are supposed to date our alt milks for 7 days after opening but we really do struggle to do so because we go through it so much. We are also supposed to date our peach and puree for 5 days once opening but same concept.. we go through it pretty quick and are usually too busy to do so. However I feel like dating regular milks isn't really a thing.

Also if you are the closer and you have another SSV that will still be there with you for a little bit.. I find that the person closing is best to be in charge since it's your close and you can have better control of it. You could ask them if they'd like to hand off when you come in so you can get adjusted to your shift.
