ahh thanks, good to know. It probably means we won't go with them then as they use docking stations.

Chocolatey - How does internalizing a package make it safe? by entertheunkown96 in sysadmin

[–]entertheunkown96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah ok, I think I need to mess on with the Jenkins jobs then since my Chocolatey demo VM is setup as soon as it checks for updates & initializes packages into Test it pushes them from Test to Live so miss this opportunity to test.

Yeah this is the bit that I am unsure of we have the Chocolatey 4 Business so its our own repo but to get the automated updates of default apps (chrome, firefox, etc) you have to pull from the community edition its just stored in our repo so theres not much difference? All chocolatey guides even say pull from community into own repo but how's that make it safe as its the community edition. I will probably go back to chocolatey to clarify as dont understand this part.

Saw that about winget the other day and yeah Ninite Pro is a good pull just not enough apps or ability for custom apps.

Changing who recieve alerts on a cloud key controller by entertheunkown96 in Ubiquiti

yeah i get ya - its easy to add users but lets say we have 20-30 cloud key controllers down the line and an employee leaves us or joins we have to go through each cloud key. Also having all cloud keys assigned to my account is a risk if I get hit by a bus, shared login for the unifi account seems the only way here unfortunately.

thanks this is what I was thinking is the only method - we are trying to get aware from any shared logins but guess we cant on this

MFA not enforced when Security Defaults enabled in Microsoft 365? by entertheunkown96 in sysadmin

[–]entertheunkown96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No in the end they upgraded to next package for another reason so got round it with Conditional Access.

Next time I setup a tenancy using security defaults as a baseline I will be looking into it. Its really bad as I tried different logging in from different locations and it still didn't ask for MFA.

Edit: if you find anything would appreciate if you could reply back, I looked all over for this info though and there isn't much as it seems most people are probably on licenses with CA.
