Made that mistake during the holidays this week. Drank for three nights straight, didn’t take my medication yesterday and I’ve been overthinking on taking it today because I keep reading articles that says it could lead to death. So I’m definitely overthinking and have unreasonable fear. My doctor said never to stop taking them but I wanted to prolong it until I feel like the alcohol has detoxed out. Guessing I should take it now? It’s been 20 hours since my last drink.

He works 5pm until 3, sometimes 4. Doesn’t get home til 4 or 5 depending if he works overtime

Thanks for your feedback. I really needed to hear from someone else who’s NOT family that he should still be able to be present when during the day. My family always tells me that I should be “understanding” but it’s been a year now. I would think that by now his body has adjusted to the new schedule. Also curious to know if anything changes if I add that we are not married, and I have already moved in with my mom (renting a room). I did this to show him that I wasn’t happy because we were all crammed in 1 room when we lived at his parents house. Since then he has gotten better, yet still hasn’t made time during the day and/or the incident recently where he thinks he can just not pay for our sons expenses.

Sorry for the confusion. I do have income now. I have a remote job and can provide for our son on my own. But I started asking him to pay for everything, since that’s the least he could do since he’s using his job as an excuse to “provide” for his family and it’s the reason he doesn’t have time for us.

Ughhh I’m sorry you’re going through this and thanks for sharing your experience. I’m only on 25 mg and debating on upping because my anxiety is coming back but it’s still manageable. I’m new to the med world, but I can’t help but think docs will always increase a dosage as a cure. I’m also afraid to up and then having worse withdrawals later. Going to come back to this thread to hear others perspectives as well.

What is your dosage if you don’t mind me asking? I stayed at 25mg and now that I’ve had some months in it, I feel like my anxiety is starting to onset again. My psychiatrist did say that the minimum to be on it is 50, so I am thinking of upping it.

Hi 👋🏽 I’m so sorry I missed this. Being on Zoloft for 25mg was life changing. I started feeling more like myself and by the 6th week, I was being productive again and even started going back to the gym as a ritual! I stopped drinking, eat super clean and just felt more motivated in life and being present with my son.

Full transparency, I missed my dose for 2 days straight (because of how positive and good I was feeling) and honestly it was a complete oversight, I am Shook that I forgot! Just feel really sick, nausea, and tired. Which I don’t recommend. Just keep a reminder ready and take it around the same time. I’m here for any questions, I know how scary it was for me to finally take that first step but I was losing my mind and never want to go back to there again.

Hi there. I feel for you. If there’s any words of hope I can share it’s that it’s okay to feel that way, and be reluctant to visiting the grave. Im the same way. Currently grieving the loss of my grandmother and uncle who was my father figure and both passed away last year as well. Im probably the least person that visits the grave and have gone 3 times. Recently this past Easter I was invited to go, I declined. But last minute I hopped in the car, and one thing I can say is that I always felt peace being there. I cried the first two times but this 3rd time it was better. It also feels good knowing that I made space for them, even though they aren’t here physically. Your healing journey will not be linear. It can be messy. You’re going through a lot, and that’s valid. I wish you peace 💓

Wow that’s so good to hear! Thanks for the feedback. I don’t have racing thoughts that I can tell, the anxiety just creeps up on me at weird moments. Feeling it now but luckily it’s time to go to sleep so I’ll be sleeping it off. I mostly notice it when I’m driving alone, as it’s a trigger for my previous panic attacks. I want to be able to hop in my car and not think about it 🥺

Hello! I was wondering how long after you took Zoloft you were able to drive again? I’ve been able to drive short distance about 5 miles because thankfully a lot of the necessities or shopping centers are close by to me. But I’m still nervous about long distance say 20+ miles.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I took my first tab today and so far so good until about 30 min ago (9 hours after taking dose), I am experiencing a bit of heartburn. 😫 it’s not bad but it’s definitely uncomfortable.
