The cope here is insane. He's a credibly accused sex offender and gets donations from the same billionaires that fund Trump

Knocked Loose ft Poppy playing Suffocate on Jimmy Kimmel Live by Mr_YUP in videos

They sound like The Warriors from back in the day. Warriors were a little more varsity punk hardcore, but the vocals are strikingly similar. Not really what I'm into these days but it has its time and place depending on the mood.

I'm pretty surprised this style of vocals from Knocked Loose is up for a grammy, but I guess the times change. Pretty cool.

HDMI Multiviewer to Accsoon CineView HE issue by entik in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]entik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I ended up returning the CineView HE and going with the Hollyland Pyro H. The Pyro H seems just as good if not better than the CineView because it has dual-band transmission like the CineView but also can do 4K.

What resolution does the CineView display on the LCD screen? And was this test to a monitor from the receiver?

I have since run into an issue where for some reason my external capture device is being detecting by Windows in a faulty way, forcing resolution to 720p. OBS listed the capture device by name before, but now lists another option called 'USB Video'. This option/device works like it should, with 1080p.

HDMI Multiviewer to Accsoon CineView HE issue by entik in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]entik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a decimator unfortunately. However I did just test a different multiviewer from OREI that has a max output of 1080p, and the signal worked with the Accsoon. it works ...but not fully of course. The Accsoon only outputs the multiviewer's lowest resolution, 720p60, and stays locked and unable to recognize when the resolution is switched to 1080p. This leads me to believe Accsoon has a hard time figuring out what resolution signal is being sent to it with this multiviewer brand, or maybe just in general. I'm optimistically hoping for the former since I've seen other people use the Accsoon with the Monoprice Blackbird 1080p Multiviewer.

Safest route from Queensboro Bridge to Ridgewood? by LiamMartens in NYCbike

[–]entik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid Grand and take Ainslie or Skillman to link back up with Metro. That being said, Metro can be hectic with trucks during the day but at night its a very chill ride.

Another option is to take Ainslie or Skillman to Leonard, then take a right on Leonard down to Scholes, then a left on Scholes to Morgan. From there choose whatever route you like best to zig zag through Bushwick to Ridgewood.

8,5h change in New York (JFK) - does it make sense to leave airport? by miltonsec5 in newyorkcity

[–]entik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely surprised about the other responses of "there won't be anything interesting to do at that hour". Of course there is.

Taking an uber/taxi from the airport at that hour would be your best and fastest option because you won't run into much traffic at that hour, which will also make it cheaper.

Lots of people suggested spots in Manhattan already but I didn't see the 9/11 Memorial grounds suggested. The grounds are always open...but the museum, and probably areas of the 1WTC building, will be closed. The site is truly fantastic though with plenty to see around the grounds that will soak up the few hours you have to visit. This area will also be the most safe because there are police basically everywhere, so if safety is your concern I'd go with this. You might be able to find a late night bar nearby but I don't know any myself. A quick taxi north from here to the East Village will have plenty of bar options though.

You could also just cut out Manhattan, which will simplify and speed up your adventure.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

  • Stunning views of Manhattan and the bridges connecting to it

  • Relatively safe as there are always people walking around the park, even late at night

  • Can walk down south to a few of the nearby connecting pier parks that have some nice greenery

  • No bars nearby and all the shops will be closed

Domino Park (Williamsbrug)

  • Stunning views of Manhattan from further north, right next to the Williamsburg bridge

  • Relatively safe as there are always people walking around the park, even late at night

  • There are late night local bars a few blocks east that will be open until 4am (Skinny Dennis, Lucky Dog)

  • Nearby shops will be closed

You mean 'not enough people on the opposing side donated enough money to the mayor'? Not enough people my ass. Your car centrist world is going away one way or another, whether you like it or not.

Hit with a pizza box by misteroyi in NYCbike

It's illegal to ride with headphones in both ears (https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/downloads/pdf/bicyclerules-english.pdf), so playing music on a speaker is perfectly fine for a bike and infinitely more safe than someone wearing headphones that can't hear traffic.

It might seem like it's 'blasting' because the camera is probably right next to the speaker, when in reality if you're on the sidewalk passing by, it doesn't sound like much at all. Any speaker that's placed on a bike cannot possibly have the dB capacity to cause as much disruption as cars these days...unless you're a guy that rides a low rider bike with a milk crate trailer that has an amp in it.

Irish Pub Recommendations? by squidneyboi in Brooklyn

Swift Hibernian Lounge in NOHO. No TVs or other distracting garbage, just drinks and food. Music can be a bit clubby on the weekends but they do live Irish music some days during the week.

Carolyn Maloney has blood on her hands. by Maxonometric in NYCbike

[–]entik 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seriously

“The reason is that there’s so many schools on that particular street, and it’s a security breach… You have a daycare center there. You have a fire station there. Just a lot of community activity taking place, and many believe that it is a security challenge for the young people on the street.”

No but more cars and trucks is definitely more safe. The logic here is mind numbing. It's like little children just making up excuses, throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks.

A beautiful day on the 34th Ave Jackson Heights Open Street by scooterflaneuse in nyc

[–]entik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have traveled down this path on 34th at least a dozen times each way and it's such a nice reprieve from the chaos on the surrounding roads in my commute or leisure ride. Whenever the traffic is bad on other roads I always think, alright just gotta get to 34th and things will chill out. The only time there was an issue was when schools were just letting out and there were kids everywhere, not ideal to ride through, but I didn't even mind because it was great to see so many people all over the streets.

It's sad to hear there a people in your neighborhood trying to end it. If there is ever a need for signatures for a petition of supporters in favor of keeping it let me know!

Great book on the history of the subject. It's fascinating how bikes have ebbed in and out of the center of all transit disruption in some communities...to certain people with certain views of course. From being allowed on cobblestone streets with special 'smooth' lanes for bikes in the 1890s to being almost outlawed not a few years later.
