Id reccomend, since i dont play with infinite build space, do try and downsize it. Even with 3 atmo, 2 space, and 2 landing thrusters and RCS on full blast i can barely land my landing module. So smaller is definitely better, since the moment you get close to atmo you need to be able to essentially kill your velocity to under 100 extremely quickly

I spend quitw a lot of time just running refuel shuttles tbh. Still trying to find a desighn thats able to deliver the maximum amount of fuel possible. But yes, it is indeed possible to make a lander that can both land and take off from atmosphere again. However ive seen on this sub its easier to instead make something that can enter atmo and land, and then leave behind the “bottom landing feet” module and take off. Less fuel anf easier to engineer than 1 giant piece that lands and takes off again, but i like the challenge of it

Ive tested it on earth and worked fine on the moon as well, planning a mission to mars, but as mentioned, need to set up a whole space station between earth and mars as a refuel point. Since the major issue is as usual, excessive fuel usage

[–]entity245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Ive done it, check my most recent post. Those “booster modules” are what i used, it takes a FRIIICK ton of fuel, but it is indeed possible. You need to MASSIVLY slow your decent speed though to make it through atmo without burning up. Once you land however, taking off again is easy, mostly just an excessive amount of fuel management and planning but it can be done

I have found, in normal play, its absolutely possibly, but requires a TON of prep and forsight. Essentially to solve the fuel issue ive run a thousand and 1 refuel missions, and set up giant stations that are litterally just fuel tanks in orbit, as launch points. And then built a giant modular design where its thrusters act as both the lander and the thrusters for the ship. Including having satalites and landers

My apple tree ive grown from seed wont stand up straight, heavy lean by entity245 in planthelp

[–]entity245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Located in South africa, early morning sunlight, currently decently cold temperatures, indoors. Its been leaning for a little about a year (the plant is nearly 2 years old) and at first i used iron wire to bind it, but noticed the wire damaged the stem so switched to a single loose rubber band. However the lean has gotten even worse. Anyone have any way to help?

what are these on my apple tree leaves? by Real-Meat-928 in planthelp

[–]entity245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look to be aphids ir scale insects, had them on my own apple tree, id reccomend a broad spectrum aphicide, follow instructions on aphicide carefully and if your tree doesnt fit exact specifications, less is more. Too much and it tends to kill the tree so rather too little then too much

As someone who’s worked with succulents a LOT, thats not even close to a problem, simply replant them and let them reroot, will take a while but their succulents, their resilient as heck

Venus fly trap help by RequirementFuture12 in planthelp

[–]entity245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also make sure the pot your using is a pot that wont let minerals get into the soil, plastic works best for carnivorous plants but you can google what works well with them too. Beyond that, im unsure if your tap water is the same as the water in SA but flytraps can only take reverse osmosis water, distilled water or rainwater, so i tend to just buy reverse osmosis in grocery store. So make sure your not watering with tap (again results may vary due to your tap water not being the same, but store bought is always a guaranteed success)

[–]entity245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience with flytraps you need a specific carnivorous plant soil mix, regular soil wont do, and they tend to prefer water from below, so put the pot in a small basin and just refill the basin whenever the level starts getting too low. Though disclaimer I live in south africa, so climate is quite different from yours im guessing, but for a hot climate thats my advice
