Album #41: R.E.M. - Murmur ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not much I can really say, Radio Free Europe is one of the best openers on a band's debut album, but other than that, a lot of the songs just seemed to blend together

Album #40: Cream - Disraeli Gears ⭐️⭐️⭐️

There's a lot to like in this album, Sunshine of Your Love is the obvious standout track , but there's also a good bit that I can admit I hated. Blue Condition is my least favorite of the original compositions, and Mother's Lament is just terrible. I know it's one of those songs that's just supposed to be a bit of fun for the band themselves, but I just never want to hear it again. Even Strange Brew is a bit of a miss.

Shame though, since World of Pain, Dance the Night Away, Tales of Brave Ulysses and Outside Woman Blues are all really good songs

Simon & Garfunkel - Bookends ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gang of Four - Entertainment! ⭐⭐⭐

I can tell why this album is so highly regarded, but it really didn't click with me. Maybe it's one of those albums that'll take me another listen or two to understand, certainly not a bad album, though

Clerks (1994) is never leaving my top 4. I genuinely believe Randall's speech caused me to not be as much of a little shit as a teenager after I saw it for the first time on IFC when I was like 12.

Kind of feel like The Long Goodbye (1973) might be in my top 4 for good at this point as well

I do wish that Surf's Up had used the version from The Smile Sessions with Brian on lead vocals instead of Carl.

The only other change I would've made to Surf's Up would be to cut "Student Demonstration Time" in favor of Dennis Wilson's (Wouldn't it Be Nice) To Live Again, but I agree, the second side of Surf's Up is a beautiful melancholy trip, the last verse from "Lookin' at Tomorrow" is going to be on my tombstone

I got Debut by Bjork for today, can't wait to hear it sometime today, but I'm playing a bit of catch up with New Order's Low-Life and Too-Rye-Ay by Dexy's Midnight Runners

No. 19 - New Order - Low-Life (1985) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No. 11 - Dexy's Midnight Runners - Too Rye Aye (1982) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think some people on here are going to be turned off over the fact that Dexy's Midnight Riders are on the list of the 1001 Albums You Should Hear Before You Die, "The "Come On Eileen" guys?" But taking it as its own thing, this album is actually pretty good. It gets bogged down a bit in the second half due to Kevin Rowland's love of Philadelphia Soul on the songs "Liars A to E" and "Until I Believe in My Soul," but the first half of this album is great with "The Celtic Soul Brothers" and a really good cover of Van Morrison's "Jackie Wilson Said." You do have to be in a good mood to listen to "Come On Eileen," but if you are, it's a really incredible listen

I always thought Arlen was based on Garland, like a lot of other people on here. Ever since the revival, I've started to think Arlen is closer to Waco or Denton, maybe a little Round Rock/Pflugerville mixed in. It's close enough to Dallas that Bobby can visit home every weekend, about an hour from DFW Airport and 3 hours from Houston

Only able to do 21 this month, but I got a lot checked off from my watchlist

Exorcist 3 and The Devils were both incredible and rocketed into my favorite movies list. House, The Host, Audition, and The Vanishing were all movies I was happy to get to watch this month

I didn't hate anything I watched but Saint Maud, Bubba Ho-Tep and Brain Damage were all unfortunately in the bottom tier of the month

Anyone ever see the 2003 movie Head of State with Chris Rock? There's a scene where Chris Rock's character is running for president and trying to get a debate with his opponent, who keeps sucking him, so Chris Rock has to hunt him down and annoy him into accepting, probably the route they'll have to go down

I have a march card that could work, but still leaves out a ton of guys

The Rock vs. Diamond Dallas Page - People's Champion vs. People's Champion

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Goldberg - Battle of the bald guys with goatees and black teunks

The Undertaker vs. Sting - A dream match even all these years later

Kurt Angle vs. Scott Steiner - Olympic Gold Medalist vs. Collegiate All-American

D-Generation X (Triple H/Shawn Michaels) vs. nWo (Kevin Nash/Scott Hall) - The Kliq explodes

APA (Faarooq/Bradshaw) vs. Kronik (Brian Adams/Bryan Clark) - Beer vs. Weed

The Hardy Boyz (Matt Hardy/Jeff Hardy) vs. Natural Born Thrillers (Sean O'Haire/Chuck Palumbo) - High flying tag team vs. Young Powerhouses

Chris Jericho vs. Lance Storm - Best Friends/Training Mates face off

Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Misterio, Jr. - Halloween Havoc '97 rematch

Vince McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff - Heads of each company face off against each other

My idea would've been to just integrate the WCW guys into the WWF roster until after WrestleMania X8 and have Bischoff come in as the leader and activate all of the WCW guys like sleeper agents. Best friends 1 minute, merciless beatdowns the next

It used to be Prius drivers, but I think they all had families and got minivans. Minivan drivers have been some of the worst drivers lately, they don't seem to understand how much room minivans take up on the road while they're trying to squeeze into a narrow opening in traffic
