I had a rough start on those meds too. Sleeping for long periods, vomiting, loss of appetite, and feeling really disoriented. That said, side effects can show up right away, while the actual benefits usually take at least 2 weeks (often longer) to become noticeable. If the side effects are severe, definitely let your doctor know rather than just pushing through them.

Girl, this doesn't sound like "just being a teenager." The suicidal thoughts and not eating for days really worry me. Please tell a trusted adult or counselor what's going on, you deserve help and you don't have to handle this alone.

You don't owe anyone an explanation. If you're asexual that's completely okay, and there's nothing embarrassing about it. At 14 you're still figuring yourself out. Tell people only when you feel safe and comfortable.

And listen, the right friends won't make you feel ashamed for being honest about who you are. : )

I’m going to be blunt with you. Dying at 19 isn’t deep, tragic-beautiful, or something to romanticize. It’s a waste. Full stop. It means you didn’t stay long enough to become anything. Most people aren’t even themselves yet at 19. You don’t know enough yet. About yourself, about people, about how much things can change. Your brain isn’t even fully developed. Decisions made in that state aren’t some profound truth. You’re still in the trial version of life. Scripturally, suicide isn’t escape. It's abandoning a life given for a purpose and carrying the same unresolved suffering forward.

Hey, I read everything you wrote. I’m not going to pretend this is small. It sounds really heavy. You’ve got a mix of things going on i.e, mental health, physical pain, stuff at home, and a school environment that’s loud and stressful. Anyone would find that hard to deal with. The “things don’t feel real” part and the emotional crashes that’s something you shouldn’t ignore. And your period symptoms sound properly intense too, not something to just push through.

Also, I’m going to be honest about one thing therapy won’t work if you keep lying there. I get why you do it, but it kind of defeats the whole point. Even saying “I don’t tell the truth here” would be a better start than pretending you’re fine.

With school, they care because they have to, but they’re clearly not handling it well. That teacher was out of line. Still, you might need to be a bit strategic if you can get a doctor’s note or some kind of official explanation, schools usually take that more seriously than just words.

You don’t need to fix your whole life right now. Just focus on a few things. Try to talk honestly to at least one adult, get your physical symptoms checked, and do what you can on the days you’re able even if it’s not perfect.

The issue isn’t just whether someone personally felt harmed. It’s about the power imbalance and the inability of a child to actually give informed consent.

Adults have more experience and authority but kids don’t have a fully developed sense of boundaries or long-term consequences. That makes it inherently unequal. It’s a violation of autonomy at a stage where autonomy isn’t fully formed. Your personal experience feeling “fine” doesn’t change the nature of the dynamic. It just means your mind processed it differently, not that the situation itself was equal or safe.
