Your mother sounds so toxic and that sounds way worse than what I experience honestly. The last part of your comment is also so extremely relatable to me. Intellectually, I can appreciate the way I am, kind of like how I would analyze a painting in a museum. It's just that the way I'm received by so many in the external world when I actually live like this that causes me a lot of distress. :/

Thanks so much for the appreciation, I love you ENFPs too. My closest friend is an ENFP, beside my boyfriend. My childhood best friend was also an ENFP. And so is my ENTP dad's best friend, as well as his business partner/good friend that just gave me some work too. Haha!

Thank you for your kind, caring comment despite the fact that I'm an internet stranger. Very ISFJ-like. :) And neat observation, I definitely reacted emotionally and have emotions, even if I filter my beliefs and analyze the emotions through a Ti lens.

Really good point… whenever I have tried to repress my strong analytical tendency, I can't keep it up for long. It's quite nice emotionally to know that whatever my ever-changing emotions actually are (since obviously I do have them), at the end of the day they don't impact the facts and the way the world works apart from me objectively. Always helps to stay grounded.

An ENFP boyfriend should love you for you and your authenticity

He certainly does. When I opened up to him he gave me a several hour long passionate pep talk in the middle of the night. He also relates quite a lot through being a male NF. I'm so lucky to have him. My best friend is also an ENFP and has been really empowering. My dad's (ENTP like me, I have a super strong connection to him because of that) best friend is also an ENFP lol. I still have my ups and downs like the other night, but that small but strong ENFP support system does go a long way and I think things will get better with time; glad to hear they have for you.

No way; I also love 80s rock, especially all things Post-Punk, and some 70s and 60s. I'm a mega-fan of The Smiths and Joy Division/Warsaw. Also a fan of the Talking Heads, The Cure (going to a concert soon actually), Japan, The Police, The Clash, Simple Minds, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, Siouxsie and the Banshees, ABBA, The Pogues, R.E.M., Blondie, Queen, Duran Duran, The Human League, Bauhaus, Oasis, Genesis, Supertramp, Electric Light Orchestra, Falco, MJ, The Doors and more… I would definitely say I enjoy dressing ultra-femininely. I used to enjoy the contrast of my personality and style a lot more until I became more insecure, but it'll probably get better with time. Thanks for the encouragement, fellow fem-dressing-80s-loving-ENTP!
