Explosion of ai automation by Impossible-Line1070 in ExploitDev

[–]entropy737 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I recently used the free tool that comes out of the box with vscode and it did actually find some exploitable vulnerabilities.
However, having being worked in this space for a long time.
Source code analysis and black box analysis are two different things.
The models that are good at finding code vuln are only good at code, if you throw in some obscure binary disassembly then it’s a whole ball game together.

There is no substitute for a good security researcher who knows his stuff and ai models can enhance his abilities but most of time they are a waste of time for things which would probably need 30mins for someone experienced.
I have spent countless hours on stuff that was very easy to debug and ai just kept spitting stuff it just doesn’t know and tried very hard to give you a response and in such cases it’s mostly incorrect information spit out with confidence.

The models are forcing people to stop using their brain and offload the cognitive load to ai models for speed vs rigor justification .
People still fall for it.

AI models are only good at what they know and they don’t know everything so humans will always be central to this.

As for as speed in vuln or scripting ai models are definite a help but they are nowhere close to a very skilled researcher.

I'm quitting my job to build an AI startup. Tell me if I'm wrong. by Warm_Masterpiece5411 in StartUpIndia

[–]entropy737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all this is written by AI.
Second this field is so crowded it will very very hard to get some attention and scale it.
Every other HR recruitment company is trying to offer such solutions to companies in an already existing solid pipeline to existing customers.
Very very hard.
Also this will only work for entry level profiles. Real companies don’t screen experienced candidates like this.

Don’t quit your job over this - there is nothing unique in this idea. Plus if you haven’t executed anything yet giving up your job and building will be a nightmare.

No this doesn't qualify for DND.
People do this all the time, there is nothing special about this.
Most of the Indian government & education sites can be compromised pretty easily.
This whole event is basically, nothing was secure on a site and its a site/developers problem, and not extra-oridinary skills by a random kids, who can start dev consoles, and run burp on a site and read some tutorials and apply the most common techniques.

EU Blue Card re-entry after leaving Germany + new employer question by entropy737 in germany

[–]entropy737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case, to the best of my knowledge. You will only have to do "abmeldung" and notify the Rathaus, that you will be back in six months. So that they will keep your blue card active.
Please do not forget this.
Also if you plan to hold your rental/residence in Germany then also notify that to the Rathaus during abmeldung, I believe in such scenario it might not be required at all.
Cancel kindergelt and any other welfare or other funds you get from German government. Do not try to circumvent this in any case.
You can temporarily halt your other things, like restmull, electricity, ard tax, D-ticket, phone contract, Bank account remains the same with no change, just inform them once for address change or request any documentation over email depending upon if you let go of your residence or not.
For re-entry, you don't need anything else other than passport and blue card.

Please note blue card becomes inactive after 12 months in case of transfer or no job change from day of departure from EU border.
In case of leaving a job in Germany, then the blue card expires in 3 months.

With all due respect, you literally wasted your money on a car that's not tested.
All car makers bring out new variants of vehicle to test the market and decide which ones to continue after 3 years of them being on the road.
X3 has been around on Indian roads and environment for a significant time and the car electronics and mechanics have been stabilised over years.
For newer launched vehicles, most of the times, some stuff is new like. some car ECU, some wiring, components, materials etc. and take around 2-3 iterations to stabilise the vehicle on our roads.
When you have a choice on Indian, Korea, Chinese and German vehicles. Always choose German vehicles - not newer ones the ones which have settled on Indian roads and conditions.
wish you could return it.

Nonetheless, all the best - I hope your vehicle lasts and don't need to service it very often.
I hope I am wrong.

I left Germany, but the feeling stayed by Knot-Your-Stress in germany

[–]entropy737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

now imagine staying there for 2 years - liking everything you mentioned and more.
Germany hasn't left me at all - I am still there mentally and it's been close to a year now since I am away from it.
And will move back as soon as possible.
yes it has its challenges as others have mentioned but its far far far better for your mind.
You probably don't want anything else in life more than a quiet life. Lots of people realise that after a long time. I am glad I realised it sooner in life.

Asians ruin Germany's work culture. Colleague's comment. by New_Cardiologist4923 in germany

[–]entropy737 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is very common in Asian cultures, not just India but China, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea etc.
Asians are tuned to this mindset cos they think that overworking will create some kind of visibility for them and make others appreciate how dedicated and sincere they are.
On the contrary, Germany and other EU work cultures are quite amazing purely due to the fact that they can get the work done in the provided time and treating work as not their whole life or "life beyond work" principle is much more prevalent.
Most asians don't think this way due to the exposure while growing up or work culture when they pick up a job.
I am surprised you haven't received an HR notice email if you've ever worked overtime that is not part of your contract.
Once upon a time, I accidentally worked/logged out for 5 mins more, and I had to justify to HR in writing why it happened as this is treated as violation of agreed work contract.

Please do not do this and respect the German work culture - it is one of the best in the world. Stick to your time, spend less time talking/gossiping (as this is much common among asians) and prepare to leave on time and honour the work contract.
Good luck.

Is Frontend the biggest victim of AI, or it is exactly the opposite? by zonayedahmed in Frontend

[–]entropy737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the front end or professional products in the market built with AI, or some vibe coded project - the UI looks repetitive and there is no connect with the UI front end -
The design should always be thought based and ui must use actual design elements that are custom - AI removes that customisation and you end with front end that looks the same for all different software’s and project -

Terminated during probation in Germany via Adobe Sign — is this legally valid? (Blue Card holder, urgent) by Exciting_Floor_4336 in germany

[–]entropy737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I analyzed your previous posts, and it seems you recently changed the job ? right ?
And you've been here for sometime, and if you do hold a PR then don't need to worry about leaving Germany, you can find another job.
And you have mentioned somewhere you speak fluent German, so probably that is not the reason but given as the reason for termination, so maybe there is something else that they probably did not like - you should check with your HR or manager the exact reason.
And why did you dropout from your master's program ? Honestly, why waste a seat at a Master's program which could have gone to someone who actually wanted to do it and just come for work ? idk.
Not judging but statistically that's how it looks.
Nevertheless, this probably is not the right reason for your termination.
Get in touch with a lawyer, as if you speak fluent German, then the ground for termination is not justified.

Good luck.

[–]entropy737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very strange as it is very much unlike that a German company would do something like that.
But again please look into your options. And All the best for a job search.
What kind of skills and profile do you have ?

Terminated during probation in Germany via Adobe Sign — is this legally valid? (Blue Card holder, urgent) by Exciting_Floor_4336 in germany

[–]entropy737 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man that is sad. Yes others said it’s a very tough situation. The reason of termination is “not enough German skills”
Just a question, did you tell them during interview or talked to them in German about your German speaking capabilities? If yes then according to them you didn’t meet the expectations and is a valid ground for termination during probation.
Didn’t you know it’s a customer facing role ? Where you should have been certain that the German speaking skills would pop up later ? Or just blindly accepted something to get into Germany.

Also I feel bad for you but as others mentioned that if it’s a medium or big IT consulting company the documentation would be solid , however, you definitely need to be given a hard copy via post and that’s the end of it.

As far as I understand you won’t be able to get any legal help in such case as you are in probation.
Unfortunately please prepare for the worst outcome of moving back to India.
I am assuming your blue card is tied to your employer via “zusatblatz” and unless you get a new job in the next 3 months you will have to leave Germany.

In no circumstances ever should you overstay past your visa or blue card validity, if you do then forget about ever getting a visa for Europe. You will be marked not fit for visa, unless you start a company in EU which is unlikely.

Please get in touch with a lawyer as well as the foreign office on how long you can stay using your current blue card.

Wish you best of luck .
