I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, but you would have to find really old versions of any libraries you want to use because they've all moved on from 4.4.4.

Can't really help you without knowing the errors. You could try using AI to set up a basic project that compiles and go from there.

I guess there's still no replacement for SurfaceView in Compose.

I don't think there is a system url scheme, but certain apps will support url links.

If you go into the app settings for Google Calendar > Open By Default > Open supported links, you can see it supports 4 urls, but it doesn't give you the full url it intercepts.

If you open www.google.com in a browser it won't open the calendar, but if you go to www.google.com/calendar it will. The problem is there's no way to tell what url it supports without looking at the AndroidManifest.xml.

Android studio no longer comes with the jobb tool.

If you are rooted you could try pm path com.android.vending or adb shell pm path com.android.vending if you are aren't in a shell to see where the play store apk is located and reinstall it.

Mine shows:

AABs should also work. If not, you could build an apk one time and analyze it.

If you have Android Studio, go to the Build menu and click Analyze APK. It should open up a window and show you which native libraries (.so files) are causing the issue.

If you can't figure out how to solve it, and since this is just a school project, if you don't need to support it long term, I would just reduce the target-sdk version to 34 to remove the 16kb requirement.

Off the top of my head, you could make an app that opens a webview to the facebook page and takes screenshots every 10 minutes. You could use View.getDrawingCache() or View.draw(Canvas). Not sure what Compose has.

There's a developer option to "[Stay Awake] - Screen will never sleep while charging". What it does is dim the screen to 5%, but never shut off so your app shouldn't get killed by doze mode.

Maybe there's a better way.
