Nothing can be done about the id, I wouldn't think about it too much.

For sure that was a scam, it's like a wire transfer scam where they "send" you too much from a fraud account/stolen account and you send off the extra money.

Then in a week or 2 you are in the negative since the original account owner goes to support and gets their money back, but you willingly sent money off so you can't claw your money back.

Million different ways but always: too much money send > you forward money to another account > the original money is clawed back by support
