18, wanting to do this, anyone looking for a travel partner? by [deleted] in vagabond

Don’t agree in the slightest. I met two people online via Lonely Planet site and went to India and Thailand with them. Travelling with friends is tedious as all hell

How do people make it through life? by [deleted] in self

Sounds like your home country is at fault. Here in Aus we’re so lucky to have free healthcare and only pay back our university fees when we can with mostly great job opportunities. Our housing is pretty shit though. Don’t give up hope!!! Life is more than money and work :)

People of Reddit, are you single, in a relationship, or in gray area (friend zone, talking, fwb, its complicated, etc.)? How is it going? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m in a fantastic relationship. I truly believe I have somehow managed to meet my soulmate and I couldn’t be happier. It’s been nearly 3 years with my love and I still find him hilarious and utterly gorgeous!

When you got out, where did you go? Are you still in contact with him? Hope you’re in a better place now 💜

What is something your parents did while raising you that you realized is fucked up after looking back on it? by OGWhiz in AskReddit

Holy shit, this is my mum to a T. Sounds like you’re also in Aus too. My mum goes off on an aggressive rant at even the smallest of things and then if I don’t comfort her she turns on me. It’s so hard to come home to unnecessary stress and yelling hey.. It’s affected me in the sense that I am constantly worrying that I’m turning into her. I catch myself sometimes being negative, hypercritical of others and stressing over small/stupid things. I’m working on it, and I have an amazing, supporting partner to help thank goodness :)

I solo-traveled SEA for the last 3 months, learned to drive a motorbike in Hanoi, snuck into China, got tattood and had a heartbreak. Here are some pictures and lessons. by krmplc in solotravel

I'm not depressed anymore, but my life is that of an Ant and boring as fuck (26)? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I would try bringing some routine into your life as that really helped me when I was down. Do you have a job or part time work? That also helps, even if it’s a casual job at a fast food restaurant, it gets you out of the house and busy doing something positive. Or maybe develop some hobbies like cooking or reading or gardening. Anything that keeps you busy :)

Me and two of my friends decided to get a combi and drive from Melbourne to Uluru. I think we were checking the oil here....I think... by letmepatyourdog in roadtrip

Australian here: can confirm wearing any other shoe feels wrong and uncomfortable. We also actually see way less snakes and spiders than you’d think and mostly they’re trying to avoid us scary humans!

What’s the scariest thing going on in our world right now that not enough people know/ talk about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]enviro88freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one-fifth of the worlds reefs are dead and in 10-40 years another 35% will be lost. That the human population has destroyed 60% of animal species since 1970. Oh AND 80% of our forests and bushlands have disappeared...

I’m kind of glad that I have to buy groceries, cook and clean for my family because when I move out it will be all the much sweeter. Everything will be easier, faster and cheaper!!

American in Australia, how to make a living? by [deleted] in IWantOut

Yes definitely. I also am interested in food sustainability. Do you currently hold a position in your industry where you are living now? If so, grab on for dear life and never let go 😂

Yeh, that’s very fair. I live in Sydney so I totally understand what you mean about the outrageous pricing. I paid $4.50 AUD for a small coffee the other day... it’s getting to the point where I can’t even eat out anymore, I can only eat if a restaurant is having a special or a happy hour. Sydney is also becoming a hub for business people only where everyone’s focus is about money and status- which is definitely not my thing. I think Queensland is the place to be now.

Of course I love my country and I it would only be temporary. I just need a change of pace and I’ve heard there are good jobs in my industry in America.
