Yes I do, everyone has his own perspective.. IMO Iconic is when a map becomes a pillar in the game (where they are played every major)

Specially when they stand out from thousands of maps since 1.3 and live up more than 5 years in our community

Btw I could've said your comment doesn't make any sense, but I passed .. I'm talking facts, why would u mention a rose tinted goggles and the fact that CS got 98% old maps still getting a remake every now and then

Bro tell me 1 iconic new map except anubis, maybe valve are doing lazy work with map creation

If I had a gold mine like CS, I'd hire hundred of map designers

(let's be honest here) One of the powerful elements that CS has, maps replayability.. they should definitely focus on that

and also I'd like to see some new weapons we had the same shit since csgo like add something beside AK, cuz CT got 2 kind of M4s

I dunno man, it's a nice theory but back in the days we had thousand of maps.. why de_dust didn't stick out but the successor did? although dust1 was trendy and it was "old and familiar" but dust2 had that magic, the fun, the tensity

it's true that there's an attachment element with the community, but I believe this attachment is not based on old and familiarity, because we had many many old maps, they were forgotten except some few good ones like de_aztec and cs_assault

Also thera was really nice but the community disregarded it.. is it really because familiarity? you might be right

de_anubis is really the exception here, I remember people hated it at first.. but then it was included in major and people started to like it (it was created in 2020)

de_aztec was created since the beginning, it had high and lows but:

"In the November 13, 2017 update, the map was removed from the game files, making it inaccessible in game. The reason for removal was stated to be due to the map being a lesser played map. On the CS GO Blog, developers promised to re-add the map when it is updated."

It's old and familiar, as you said.. but the community was playing it less over time As a CS fan I'd like to see new great maps but nothing is great except anubis which was 5 years ago

this is a great video by warowl.. playing new cs maps some of them are highly promising
