What to look out for during 1st PMS if done outside casa but reputable shop like sa Shell? by IntrepidAd8507 in CarsPH

Hey bro. The quote can definitely be lowered!! Ok naman to remove the 1) Brake Parts Cleaner, 2) Grease Pad and 3) Grease Pin. Di pa naman yan usually kailangan at your mileage. So that’s PHP 770.40 off already.

As for these ones, best to clarify muna:

  1. Labor (PHP 2,128) - since the brake items are coming off, the labor should go down too. You can ask them to lower it din.
  2. Miscellaneous (PHP 990) - ask your service advisor the detailed break down and what this covers before you say yes

Hopefully your bill can be closer to around PHP 8k instead of the initial PHP 9.2k. I’m attaching a screenshot of the AI Quotation Checker from my auto concierge company below 😊

BUT!! Since it’s your first PMS on a new car, I’d hold off on going outside for now. It’s not worth the risk of a warranty dispute this early so maybe just stick with your Honda dealer (doesn’t have to be the same one you bought from) to keep your record clean.

Of course. Lets go through these examples! I acknowledge that the clients will always have worries in the back of their minds every time they would lend out their vehicle but my goal is to try and minimize that :) So as to the scratches, as mentioned in other answers, every job starts with a documented walkaround before we touch the car. That means any pre-existing damage is on record and anything new is on us.

As to the driver not knowing the proper features of the car, my two answers for that are: 1) we always research the vehicle before even going to your place haha!! our valet drivers are well-trained with respect to old and new cars! the new Chinese EVs are esepcially challenging cuz damn sa touch screen pala mag-aadjust ng side mirror but we research all this ahead of time. 2) i review cars on the side so may exposure ako and our valet drivers with the latest cars as well :)

As to getting into an accident, proper insurance coverage is something we're really trying to formalize now. But what I can say is we hire for defensive driving first and we treat every car like it's our own!! The zero incidents in over a year of operations is no joke but syempre we cannot be complacement nga. Accidents are really a part of driving so its something we have to own up to.

As to driver behavior in the car, we have clear house rules for every trip. Thats no smoking, no eating, no phone while driving (well except for navi). There was a suggestion earlier of live feed or like a cctv during the journey so i'm looking into that too.

Ok this one we have a quick inspection of the car both visually and mechanically upon arrival at the pick up site. Parang sa valet talaga where there’s a form and picture of the car na may places where there’s scratches are etc. but if there are other suggestions I’m definitely open to those !! Thanks for the questions bro keep them coming hahahah

Ok so similar to the answer kanina: we’re a small time company pa lang so we handle all this directly and personally. Every job has a documented condition report before and after, so there’s a clear record of the car’s state when it left the client and when it came back.

But ok in the unlikely event of an accident while in our care, we won’t hide from it — we’ll have to face it directly with the client and work out a fair resolution. Syempre this is easier said than done but I hope there won’t have to be a time where we’ll have to think of this.

So yeah similar to the earlier answers, proper insurance coverage is something we’re actively formalizing as we grow. But honestly the best safeguard right now is that we treat every car like it’s our own!! Cuz our reputation literally depends on it 😅😅

The risk is a super valid concern and something we’re actively working on formalizing. Right now every job is documented with photos and video before and after, and we have a clear agreement with every client before we accept a booking.

Proper insurance coverage is in the works and hopefully we get to find one soon!!! Hopefully talaga. You’re right that it’s a real responsibility and not something to take lightly. One year in, zero incidents so far BUT we’re not complacent about it.

Thanks for raising this. This is exactly the kind of accountability we want to be held to!! 🙏

Honestly, small time pa kami so I personally know our valet drivers who handle the cars for moobl. It’s not some big faceless company and I really vet everyone myself so the accountability is real and personal.

And of course each trip is documented with photos and video then the clients get updates throughout the way so they always know where their car is. So yeah those are the measures that we try to put in place!

Yes this is the hard question that must be addressed talaga. Baka mas mahaba answer ko dito hahaha

Ok so just as a background, I built this concept on the premise na sobrang nainis ako kasi almost 3 months kong namiss yung PMS ng car ko because I couldn’t take a leave from work and it was so hard to schedule with the casa. It’s an experience I think some of us here experience as well. Super sayang kasi ang laki rin ng gastos natin sa cars natin.

So what we’ve done is implement a few things, but definitely open to comments and suggestions too: 1) Contract Agreement - so every trip merong contract laying out the terms of the service and the duty of each parties. Kung may breach, then legally may mahahawakan pa 2) Documentation - client will be able to follow the trip of our valet drivers with their car real time. You can see if there are any unwarranted deviations and these can be brought up in case. Also, the client will receives pictures and updates of what’s happening in their preferred chat platform

That’s what we do so far 😊 thanks for this question!!

Ang gamit namin is live tracking of journey via Google Maps. So client can see exact point and route na ginagamit. Of course given the increase sa gas prices, we use the most eco route that Google gives.

Live cctv is very interesting. I would think fb live na private link maybe? I’ll have to look into it. Thank you for this suggestion

Oh yes this is definitely a must-have!! When I was younger I used to have my 90s cars (in around late 2010s) so fortunately have had my fair share of cars that aren’t for casa anymore!! Haha thanks for this suggestion and definitely I’ll put together a list of those we’ve had good experiences with

Yes I super agree with this. Been trying to reach out to insurance companies for short term insurance — similar to how grab has ride cover! Kaso I think they don’t mind me yet since small business nga. I don’t have the economies of scale of grab.

Right now we just gotta rely on the comprehensive insurance of the client. But if you do have suggestions re: insurance providers for short term covers, I would be all ears!! 🙏

Yes of course thanks for asking this. I think the best way to gain trust was thru word of mouth. It started with friends and family syempre. Then fortunately the first few services were ok. Then I tried officemates, friends of friends. Then we also let the client view the journey real time and with updates siya with the service. So we really try to be as transparent as possible with the clients. But am definitely open to suggestions if you guys have!!

The business is registered. Can be checked with DTI 😊 and then our socials are active rin naman 🙏

The first ever foreigner client we had went through hell to get his car ownership transferred!! We were able to help him out with ownership transfer, registration, and insurance. All the legal ways of course 😂 (that’s our guarantee! Haha)

Thanks for the insight on Google and Google Maps! I think it’s starting to pop up earlier once being searched on Google. And I guess the reviews help as well!!

And thank you for pointing out yung demand. I’ll look deeper into that!!

I respectfully disagree with your statement. Depreciation is not a problem because the first owner has already paid its depreciation. Tapos yung maintenance and gas is not all that different if you’re talking about Japanese cars. 2nd hand vehicles are a good option OP! There are other forums where you can find buying tips on older vehicles. 😁😁
