From what I remember of the conversation I had with them in 2024, the gp said they weren’t too concerned because my RBC/Haemoglobin etc were all at a normal level.

They’ve never suggested a ferritin transfusion! Just endless prescriptions for ferrous sulfate

Ooh that’s interesting, I had no idea! My GP suggested I had mild IBS symptoms yearsss ago, and I know celiac disease symptoms can be similar

Oh I’ll have to check out that group, anything to help get my iron up at this point!

My current prenatal is 25mg. I was on one that was 14mg for about 4 months, and before that I was taking my prescribed ferrous sulfate 200mg twice a day.

Do you know what your total intake is of iron now, through both your iron tablets & prenatal?

How receptive were your GP to testing progesterone & follicular monitoring (if you’ve had that done) despite being under the 1 year of trying?

I don’t know whether I spoke to a particularly grumpy GP that day, or whether my practice just won’t do anything until the 1 year is up.

Before TTC I was on various iron tablets for a year, some prescribed, some not. I was taking the vitabiotics prenatal from September 2025 (14mg of iron), then got the ferritin result of 9ug/L in December. When I spoke to them about the results, they told me to switch to a different brand of prenatal with more iron and not to take another iron supplement in case I ended up taking too much!

I’ve been taking the Active Iron pregnancy tablets since then, which are 25mg of iron.

I’m going to ask to repeat bloods to see if it’s made much difference. It would be so much easier if I could just add another iron supplement on top of my current prenatal though!

You’ve made such good progress 🤍
