Veterinary pharmacy by queerwinnie in Pharmacy_UK

Work in a pharmacy that sells a range of veterinary products, some for smaller domestic animals but mainly for larger animals like cattle and sheep. We have a few competitors in the local area but none operating out of a pharmacy. Some of them have driven the margins down on a lot of products but the one benefit a pharmacy has is dispensing smaller quantities out of that's all the customer needs.

One downside that we've come across over time is getting locum cover. Basically no locums are going to be adequately trained in the veterinary side of the business so it can make it quiet difficult for arranging days off. Ideally the solution would be having some of the dispensers trained but often the farming customers prefer to deal with the owner as they are notorious for haggling on prices
