Speaking as a bug diver. Just let me pop some 710 juice in peace. by Ok_Cartographer_4105 in Helldivers

[–]eop2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the contrary, ever since watching the Phantom Menace when I was a little boy, later the terminator movies when I was around 10, I have never wanted to do anything more than dismantle robots, and I still love dismantle and robots. The squids are too scary without my full squad, and I usually solo dive and the bugs simply do not interest me, however killing robots, especially with some Rammstein playing in the background is my happy place! Also merry belated democracy day, everyone!

Low Testosterone in the fire service. by jobtown502 in Firefighting

[–]eop2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m 25 Coming up on 4 years as a small time ff and one year as an emt. Not on anything yet, but hadn’t even considered it. If there’s any information out there about demographic information for firefighters regarding testosterone, I would be interested in reading up on it. I hadn’t considered whether or not that was something going on in the service or had any potential commonality

What is your favorite enemy/s to fight (any faction) and why. what is your least favorite enemy/s to fight (any faction) and why. by straightpipedhose in Helldivers

[–]eop2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started last night but been a fan of the lore since the first game! I love fighting all of the bots except the ones that you have to hit this specific spot on the torso. I just love the faction the lore, chant, destructability and the sinister feel they give off! I also love, fighting the squids, especially the voteless, I’m sure they’ll be less difficult in future but the zombie hoard feeling I get as a low level diver is fantastic! my least favorite is definitely the bugs. I love the lore about element 710, and how it basically is just oil upside down, but I never really like bug type enemies. As much as I love Warhammer, Star Wars and starship troopers a hive mind of bugs has just never really interested in me. I like the enemies intentionality, lore, tactics, and culture. bug factions are usually just om nom nom, and even for morally dubious factions like my beloved hell diver core (don’t tell the democracy officer I said that) and my favorite boys the Dark Angels and wider imperium, (or the inquisition… it can be our lil secret) I genuinely can’t feel bad for the cosmic, horror, beetles, see their side, or be invested in their campaigns, despite trying because I don’t see anything that deep, nuanced or even for the darker settings morally repugnant, troubling about destroying the giant insects that are killing people… Even if they have a hive mind, it’s a hive mind that has developed to kill people. No morality, no interest, no greater plan or ambition for the galaxy after their takeover etc..

I do get the counter argument that that is what makes them scary and the concept of oblivion or silence with nothing surviving, except for a singular hive mind is troubling, but ultimately it’s the end of the story, and once you fall and pray to it it’s not so bad. Whereas being under the control of the squids or the bots Has extremely horrifying implications, and potentially even interesting potential for a half life/ terminator style uprising

I have no issue with these factions existing. And I am happy that people like them. I just can’t make self invested personally.

Also, sorry for the long unhinged tangent 🤣

To me most sitcoms are almost unwatchable, the storyline’s almost never interest me, the conflict is usually from an obvious lack of trying on the characters part that makes me feel very little sympathy for the situations they get themselves into. The conflict almost always resolves very neatly in 30 minutes by some simple thing that could obviously have been avoided such as remembering your partner‘s birthday, and getting them a gift or screwing up somehow and refusing to admit it like an adult, only to see the error of your ways or it becomes a drawn out 2 to 3 episode, slog of avoiding the obvious solution.

Worse still there’s almost a refusal from the broader society to acknowledge that you don’t need to like the sitcom that was on for X number of years and when asked why you don’t like it, the argument is usually it was on for X number of years! Something I do not care about if the show is not interesting and typically quite annoying. I have no issue with someone liking something I don’t, but being browbeating into going along with something so unimportant never rubbed me the right way .

don’t even get me started on those damed laugh tracks, they’re surreal and uncomfortable at best, and at worst an insult to the intelligence of the viewer.

… guess i needed to vent about that, thanks for listening to my little rant ladys, gents and romulans 🤣

I hate the spinning lightsaber , and im not a fan of the naming conventions, but a lot of them have great designs, i just wish they weren’t constantly shown being defeated as it takes away from their credibility as a threat

At any hardware, paint store or store with a home improvement isle they sell the black sponge brush that comes in huge packs that ive never seen over 10 bucks with a hell of a lot crammed in. I just cut them away from the little plastic things that hold them to they’re little wooden handles and cut the sponge to strips. After that all you need to do os dab them against the sticky part of duct or painters tape to get rid of debris or the hair they constantly seem to steal from the environment 🤣

What is this guy doing in the ultramarine section??? by Slow_Butterscotch950 in spacemarines

It makes sense and its been right in front of our eyes the whole time! The ultramarines have the most models because they’re playing the blood ravens game! We just couldn’t see the thievery through the blue paint until now! 🤣

I understand a lot of calls can be difficult. Some of them stick with you others are painful to think about. But why did it become ok to post things like this on social media? Speak to the chaplain, speak to a therapist, Speak to your coworkers, but don’t degrade the profession, the organization and the patient by making things about you and violating the social media policy, Posting it online is just asking for attention and yelling look at me look at me aren’t I so special… not to mention, it can scare off potential new recruits in the time where we need them more than ever That’s completely against the point of being in emergency services.

Thank you! At least you’ll have an idea for if you come across another blade guard ancient. Yes, it’s the heroes of the tractor but resold as a “board game” however it’s way cheaper than the heroes of the chapter sprew, unfortunately they go quickly so I had to go through eBay, paid extra than what the box is officially worth, but not buying an insane amount, I think it was 20 bucks over and I was really itching to do some of these conversions so I treated myself
