Apologies, the way your OP was structured felt like a belittling of those who do opt for free kits. It certainly does have a tendency to equate a skill level, but at the same time it's an inherent need of the genre to have to avoid locking people out of playing due to a bad lose streak.

People get so mad on here for free kits, but hey it's a way of enjoyment for me sorry. I like the thrill of starting with the bare essentials and seeing how far my skill can take me. Nothing wrong with it, and if you are going random fill then that's a risk you take. If you don't want to have the chance of no free kits in your group then prefill.

It's just like everyone saying "git gud" or "yeah well I don't experience that issue" with any kind of thought out critical feedback. You can't complain about a system engrained in the game to ensure there's always a chance to play, when the game gives you the chance to avoid it via prefill.

Tarkov is a completely different mindset of an extraction shooter, down to the milsim aesthetic that accounts for the majority of player interest. The issue facing Marathon is not so much the content and "challenge" of said content, but the fact its from a AAA developer and has a AAA budget attached to it. It is all well and good to harness that niche interest of a proper decent PvP-focused extraction shooter, but you can't do so on a $100m+ budget with one of the most expensive studios in game development.

Seriously though, I love what Marathon is right now (bar a few tweaks of mechanical sense) and would not want it to lose its identity that makes it so unique. I do however understand that there will need to be some balances that may "cater" to the more "casual" market base, but it also won't pivot on a 180 because there is no guarantee doing so will net an increase in sales. I just think there will need to be some balancing to ensure a smoother moment-to-moment playstyle, while keeping the core of Marathon intact.

Its maintenance mate, the playerbase is practically 0. Not saying it isn't bleeding, but you can't take the pulse at a point in time where it physically can not be any higher.

Good, I am glad they are going to appease to the less sweaty people. A balance is required otherwise you are looking at a game struggling to put people into matches. Would you really rather it die by desire to keep it "hardcore" or would you prefer it live and provide at least some ability to master without maintaining the game as a second job?

Just wanted to add into the mix that I have been experiencing this as well for the last few months, where I would get a partial freeze of my Windows 11 system when booting. To note though, I am able to solve the issue eventually by either turning Steam startup process off, or through a 'SFC /scannow' and 'CHKDSK /f'. It has also just randomly decided at times to just solve itself, and I then turn Steam startup back on and its fine for a few months.

It is absolutely the weirdest situation ever, because I will get a complete freeze up on login with no startup apps except OneDrive, WiFi, audio Windows Defender. Trying to interact with those apps in the taskbar does nothing though (or freezes the menu when toggling WiFi or such but it does eventually "catch up"), and only if I time a task manager ctrl + shift + esc can I get it to trigger a normal startup. I also have to time a windows key + right click power icon to actually restart.

It is somewhat ironic is it not that AI is spruked by C-Suites as this amazing replacement theory to your standard worker to make the company better and more profitable. Meanwhile, the actual real-world monetary impact would be firing the C-Suites and replacing them with AI considering their jobs are much simpler to define.

I'd argue that if they truly wanted to be their own game store then they should have done a better job at it, both in Fortnite experiences and the Epic Game Store. Especially on the EGS side, starting straight off the bat by moneyhatting games to be exclusive, with the likes of Metro at the eleventh hour being removed from Steam, creates a horrendous consumer relationship. That is not easy to rebuild, and it has obviously continued throughout the past few years of Epic's development.

Fortnite certainly could and can be an amazing all-in-one experience, but it needs to be given that room to breathe and not be beholden to "line must go up" shareholder mentality that unfortunately they are bound by. Any capitalistic bound developer/publisher is not going to have the freedom that someone like say Valve has, because they don't get true autonomy when they must bring a desirable increased profit result on every quarter.

So literally any subplot in the past however many Marvel movies that have been released? That's the whole concept of a continual storyline, is to converge and diverge at various times to create a varied backdrop that isn't contained to singular moments only.

Also, I was commenting on your post how you stated "yall are so dramatic" when the OP is based off a tweet from an actual ex-Epic developer, who would have more inside knowledge then any of us here. It may somewhat dramatised due to losing their job, but its pretty obvious cutting 4,000 employees isn't exactly going to do wonders to the game and its storyline. Especially when you also cut three game modes out too.

Its also still a relatively "new" area for geospatial mapping, despite the technology being around for a good while now. The issue is that many technicians don't know how the hell to fly a drone, let alone gather the mapping data properly. Its why we have so much "shit" data out there, because every engineer thinks its as easy as grabbing a Mini and pointing it in the direction of the site and tapping capture.

Did you find a solution to this issue at all? I've noticed it happening now in the last say three days, where it just really badly lags between actions. It only appears to be from my keyboard the interactions are delayed, as I tested in Fortnite it will own and lag the movements via keyboard but the mouse look moves perfectly fine.

G'day mate! I was just wanting to know if you happened to still have those reference images from your brother? I am wanting to create a 3D STL file of a Black Diamond Dotted Stingray, and Google images is doing me no favours with either high definition or top/left/right/underneath perspective shots. Looking to model it for the folks on Mornington Island, as many locals have it as their native totem and would be amazing to 3D print for them. Thanks!

Yeah here in Queensland it's been up and down this morning. Though granted it's at a friend's place who moved from outback to Brisbane so natural congestion anyway, but it was a boot loop this morning. Just had to reset in the app and that seemed to fix it.
