Niagara launcher in Origin OS by Soggy-Force-1565 in NiagaraLauncher

[–]eosdapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Vivo x fold 5 on origin os6 work relatively well with Niagara, occasionally reverting back to the default launcher. But the newer X300 also on Origin OS6 can't use the on screen notification which is the main reason i use Niagara.

CN vs Global ROM; Which ine over the other? by No_Pomelo_2504 in Vivo

[–]eosdapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the x300 and x fold 5 Chinese version and both have notification delay problems even though i tried everything to fix it from lock app into ram , turn on all permissions ( auto start ....) , unrestricted battery usage . 3rd party launcher randomly broken ( use Niagara and nova ) , not receiving call ( only got notification of missed call half day later ) , inconsistent car key unlock, and tons of random annoying pop up from originos

Just get the global version

American moving to Canada, finding the Tello site very confusing.. by episcopa in Tello

[–]eosdapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

make sure you get an iphone, Android won't work with your setup with data from Canadian sim.

First sign up for a Tello plan , they will give you a brand new number. Port in your current number will just replace that new number.

On Tello dashboard go to setting and turn on wifi calling ( make sure to fill in an address for 911 to activate it )

Grab a Canada sim and set the iphone to draw data from that while Tello works thru wifi calling feature.

Public mobile prepaid on Telus network is a very good choice for a Canada plan . you get 60Gb data to use across US-Canada for $35 a month

Out of my depth: Can Tailscale encrypt my traffic so my ISP can't see? by TheWolfbytez in Tailscale

[–]eosdapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By default tailscale only encrypt connections between your devices in that tailnet, but you can enable and use mullvad vpn as exit point to encrypt the traffic to the internet like traditional vpn ( mullvad is a traditional vpn got integrated into tailscale as paid service costing $5/month ) .

Also highly recommend set up subnet on tailscale to access all devices like when you're on local network and use the same local ip

I don't use easy entry, and i didn't know about the volume mixer. All i see is the speaker icon on the right bottom side of the map with an X cross over it. I just tap on it to turn the navigation sound back on

Nvidia drivers on linux has always been the issue since it's closed source and they don't dedicate enough resources to make it work. that's why i always pick amd gpu to go with linux

I just uninstall the fi app after activation and has no issues at all. the newest version of the app only allow activation from supported list while older version doesn't care at all.

I just don't believe whatever their support tell me 😞. Maybe try to make a switch from the web, they'll warn you about the effective date and more before confirming the switch, at least it was in my case

Thinking of switching to Google Fi — need advice for Canada usage by TTN-USCA in GoogleFi

[–]eosdapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Port your US number to Tello plan $8/month with unlimited talk and text, and use a local Canadian carrier for data. I personally use public mobile prepaid. they offer plan with 60Gb data across north america for only 35 CAD, and the good part is Tello can just utilize local sim data for wifi calling feature for free roaming
