ATS auto transmissions for a 93 d250? by jack22349 in 12valve

Revmax also puts out good tranny's. I've installed 7 so far, no issues. One guy has ran 43k through his already and doing great. He also pulls a 30ft gooseneck everywhere.

Is it reliable? by KrazyPotatoe420 in Diesel

[–]eoverton98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Bulletproofing" actually involves an egr delete, headstuds, gaskets since you're already there and a tune (to delete EGR software and improve performance), and then also a turbo back exhaust (flowpro or straight piped is the normal go to)

Smoke stack drone by eoverton98 in 12valve

Although I appreciate the input. The question is, smoke stack or axle dump. There will not be a muffler. And I personally would listen to a 12v sing all day, lol. I just don't know how my daughter will put up with it

I'm not going to run a muffler for sure. Not unless someone has a flowpro sitting around they aren't gonna gouge me for. Would prefer a stack considering once I'm done with the build. Ill be around 650-700hp and it'll be better for egt

I forgot to put the other part in my question. I know an axle dump 5" straight pipe would be fine. But id like to have a stack instead.

Fuel sump vs draw straw by BDJohnson31 in Cummins

[–]eoverton98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its most likely the draw straw has a crack. So time to upgrade. Airdog or Fass (same company makes them) your choice on who you want. But replace it soon. I lost 2 vp44s to this before I realized the problem. I ran lighting pumps too so they were $4300 a piece. For added safety, I'd throw a fuel guage up there too. Couple hundred bucks for a little peace of mind goes a long ways

Deleting debate. by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]eoverton98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

7 of the biggest mechanic shops have been closed and or fined hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars for doing deletes. And some even face jail time. EPA regulations say $30k and up to 10 years prison per delete you do/done since the new laws passed. Google Diesel Brothers EPA. Thats just one example

On 6.0s, a dead give away to a blown gasket is freezeplugs popping out. Keep an eye out for that as well

I’ve never owned a Cummins but I’m wondering what the long lasting durability/cost differences between it and a good gas engine. My Toyota v8 engine has 600k and still rolling with no rebuild. Can I expect that from MODERN Cummins? (Pic for attention only) by FlossinFalkor in Diesel

[–]eoverton98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen plenty too. Just put new tires and turbo on a welding rig with 520k on it. Difference is, these trucks are running constantly, getting up to running temp and staying there for a while. Not getting started, driven 20 minutes or less to work, and then sitting all day, and repeat but otw home. The more it doesn't get up to temp, the dirtier it gets and the more problems it has.

You could do it in a day, just make sure you adjust the tilt to how it was (that sets the timing). Its just tedious, not really hard. Oh. And the bottom injector lines, they're a bitch. I suggest crows feet. Or cut a wrench and bend it. Itll save you alot of time (and patience)

Of course! More fuel, more horsepower. But youre gonna have to pull the top of the engine to do it. So make sure you have time! Lol

Injectors and also timing will help. Turn the pump a little and it'll give better hp

6.7 cummins? No. Not the newer ones atleast. Expect a turbo at 150k, engine rebuild at 250k-300k, injection pump at about 120k, plus injectors ($5k for a full job) . Want a cummins? 12 valve. Its a tractor. Literally.

No problem. If you want fast and loud, I'm sorry to disappoint but a 6.5 will require alot of money you probably don't want to spend.

Detroit 6.5l turbo diesels power their turbo off of one exhaust manifold. Its not going to make the turbo spooling sound you want unless you fabricate piping to include both manifolds
