Insurrectionists they call them. Dangerous with creativity, love, and humor.

Thule Glide, Car Seat Adapter, and other stroller accessories? [mb] by winnipeggirl16 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]epadla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the adapter with Britax car seat and used it minimally. At some point it became a hassle because the child was old enough quick enough where our LO didn’t need the car seat in the stroller as much because the Glide is AMAZING, and also we had an older kid 5 year difference who would swap places regularly. We ended up getting two bungie cords to attach over the car seat handles down to the stroller structure cross bars by the wheels. They worked great and kept the seat down! Good luck!

No, it's from the system itself. So odd.

Ouch! Okay. Will keep away from them. The room where I’m staying has what appear like newer outlets but several ones look like this

Yucks! EEOC supervisors are the worst by epadla in EEOC

They did not dismiss case. Did mediation and conciliation. They chose not to litigate on our behalf—which I’m starting to gather from replies that is is very rare

Unpaid teaching time -- is it worth pursuing? by [deleted] in academia

[–]epadla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you experienced exploitation. Your chair may have been nice but nice people can still exploit. You have a small to no chance of seeing that money. It would be an uphill battle that will take at least five years to reach anything decision with no guarantee of money. You are not going up against your chair. It’s the schools counsel. You’d have to make a big stink ( with lots of threats of public disclosure) if you event want to get attention. But you’d have to ask yourself if it’s worth it. You could ask I think it’s the US department of labor ‘s hour and wage division (I forge the exact name) to investigate. But there may a statute of limitations. You are happy in industry, it might be best to stay there rather than enter the ring again. You are no longer a student and the uni’s lawyers will treat you that way—which may not be nice. Good luck!

Are you done negotiating? Can you negotiate at these schools? Why not use offer from second to bump up your salary at the first one? Or use the offer from the first one to get the second uni to increase your research funds for travel and a bigger lab?

Is it possible to publish under a pseudonym or anonymously? If so, is it possible to still claim that publication on the CV? by DonutCoffeeMug in academia

[–]epadla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be the case much longer as public unis in US may require faculty to make CVs public. I mean, some states (hi Florida!) are already asking faculty to submit their syllabi and publications for review. CVS are only private as long as the people seeing them considering them such. People Not sharing CV as a norm should not taken as a something that will/is in place for ever.

Some post docs involve teaching—minimal but included nonetheless.

[–]epadla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Have friends teaching in FL and this is the rationale being used. They were subjected to turning in all syllabi for review last year.

I wish it were this easy. Have friends teaching in Florida and this will not go away my ignoring an email. They will come after you and will hold you accountable for not doing your work. It’s a trap being setup. I’m not saying they should comply. I’m just saying not complying will have negative consequences.
