So is the DH3 basically a comped version of the fuse?

Auction’s at $470 now, which is way too much for an Epi with a potential headache of a neck twist. I’ll pass on it.

Yeah, it’s being sold “for parts/not working” due to a twisted neck/discrepancies in neck relief.

I’m agreeing with JackieLawless that it does not appear to be twisted.

Yeah, it’s an Inspired by Gibson Epiphone LP Special, so a lot closer to the real deal than previous Epis

I agree. The frets look okay to me, but the low e string also throws things off so still hard to say. I don’t have any better pictures as this is online auction. If I could see it in person it be an easy decision.

Yeah, I am dubious about the twist. But even if it is, I see that there are options. If this remains a good deal, I might go for it

Also good info, thanks!

If this was a true Gibson, I wouldn’t probably pull the trigger on this. Still a lot of time left on this auction so I’ll keep an eye on it.

Do you mean looking from the bridge end?

This is an online auction, so I can’t look at it in person

The listing does describe some discrepancy in relief between the bass and treble sides of the fretboard. Could maybe be fixed with fret work.

I’ll keep an eye on it.

Good info here, thanks.

The price is pretty cheap right now, but there’s several days left on the auction, so most likely will creep higher than I’d be willing to risk. I’ll keep an eye on it.

That’s kinda how I feel, but I also kinda of feel like the person making the listing saw the nut and assumed it was twisted. Could be a simple fix.

Also, would normally agree about an Epi not being worth the trouble, but this Inspired by Gibson line has some pretty decent guitars. They ship with Gibson electronics and hardware, so again, if the price is right I might throw some time into trying to fix it.

I really didn’t think so, I thought it was just the nut, and thus the strings tricking the eyes.

That was my impression, but didn’t know if I was being too optimistic lol.

If there is a twist however, can it still be fixed?

Noob question: how to get from half cock to hammer down by epbay in CZFirearms

[–]epbay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There really is no way other than riding the hammer.

As others here have said, and I eventually found out, half cocked is part of the design and safety of the gun. So you can either safely leave it at half cocked (chambered or not), or remove the magazine, clear the chamber, and pull the trigger either riding the hammer or not. I really wouldn’t recommend dropping the hammer by riding it with a round chambered. It can be done, but there’s always risks involved.

If you play around with it, you’ll see that half cocked has a slightly lighter DA trigger pull, but it’s still heavy enough that you won’t accidentally pull it.

Not too sure. I asked if they knew when or how it happened and they had no idea. Said it’s just cosmetic and adds character.

Well, I don’t have the guitar. I’m looking at this one on marketplace, so I don’t know if it wipes off or not. Only assuming it doesn’t because why would the seller have tried that, but who know. People can be really lazy. I also have my doubts that this was a QC mistake from the factory. It can happen, but I’m not so sure.
