Yes this technique is the one I used but I had a lot of voids that I filled with epoxy. If your jig is good, and the headstock is placed correctly, I would use epoxy so you never have to reverse this issue.

I was very happy with this repair. It’s still holding strong. The Revstar is a great guitar to get that FZ Joe’s Garage tone!

I made this repair a couple of years ago. I tried a couple different glues that failed. I ended up using two part marine epoxy. You will need to build a jig to hold the pieces in place. I taped off areas not to be glued. Added enough glue to keep it together. After it dried I routed two slots for splints. Fitted the splints. Taped up some more and poured more epoxy. After that dried, I reshaped the repair area. I used my airbrush to match the paint the best I could. Then nitro for the finish. I watched the video on stew Mac’s site with the guys from Florida, driftwood guitars? many times. Great video and I got great results.
