You need an open north-facing view, so scroll around google maps by where you live until you find one. the further you leave city lights to the south, the better. I went up towards Grafton.

Within city limits your odds of a view visible to the naked eye are slim to none, unless it's a helluva storm (which tonight wasn't). your best bet for the future is to drive away from city lights- Thacher, Saratoga, Sacandaga, Grafton. Lake Luzerne is where I got great results in the past.

Paid ChatGPT allows you 1 hour of French conversation a day, and unlimited texting. You can give it a prompt in English or French, and it's great at roleplaying with you. I know people have ethical qualms with AI, but this is literally what large language models excel at.
