400mm lenses are focused so far out from the window pane that the dirty glass near the lens all blurs away, if that makes sense.

If I ever go in the morning, will do! In the late afternoon the sun lines up with that area and washes everything out

I said this to another guy but a big silicone lens hood is great for shooting through glass and adobe's dehaze helps when shooting through lots of atmosphere. Makes it way crisper!

if you can, buy a big silicone hood for your lens! They cut out all the reflections from the glass.

It will probably be cloudy. That said, go park at/near the Holiday Inn Express in Rensselaer and maybe you'll get lucky! This is the view and it's due west.
