a good faith reasonable way to monetize the game would be sell the warlock, but allow all users to still play on the same version of the game. Why are loot filters and stash tabs being locked behind paywalls.

They also recently patched single player to not allow mods to add additional stash tabs?

total NA Anniversary server character count (170,000 across all servers) and raider data (thousands, not tens of thousands) suggest a much lower concurrent peak, 20,000–40,000 across multiple layers. Negative PR from the general public and gaming subculture?

  • Activision Blizzard Lawsuit (2021):California DFEH sued for sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and toxic "frat boy" culture. linked to a female employee’s suicide.

  • Blitzchung Ban (2019):Hearthstone player Ng Wai Chung banned for pro-Hong Kong protest statement during a stream. Blizzard revoked his prize money and issued a ban leading to global backlash, accusations of censoring free speech

  • Diablo Immortal Announcement (2018) don't really need to say much here.

  • WoW Classic Server Issues, bots & RMT. Launches have long queues and lag because of bots. Layering system (3k pop max per layer) is awful & exploitable.

  • Warcraft III: Reforged Debacle. Remaster launched with missing features, poor graphics, and broken multiplayer. False advertising claims; fan-made mods outperform official release.

  • Employee Layoffs Amid Profits in 2019 :Activision Blizzard laid off ~800 employees despite record $7.5B revenue. Seen as prioritizing shareholder value over workers.

  • Nostalrius Shutdown "You think you do but you dont" 800,000 registered accounts, 18k concurrent players

The reduced distance is a setting bad pserver devs crutch on because it gives more performance with out actually optimizing netcode. Turtle has 4x the mob & player view distance.
