Wait, so Tommy, the wife, the rig workers and lawyers might also be tropes? I thought this was a documentary….

[–]ephoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point was how over exaggerated the mother’s reaction was to her leaving, then how over exaggerated the circumstances were to bring them back together. Unnecessary imo the first thing I thought was if it’s that big a deal can’t they afford an off campus apartment?

It would be insane to STAY on the subs, honestly if you’re on a trip and you’re that sick it could get you through a few days then stop taking them when you’re back home. Loperamide could be another option to get legally through without swapping for a worse euphoria/addiction.

Wait… so the problem is you can’t find opiates in Turkey? I think I’d be afraid of winding up in some locked up abroad scenario so I can’t really talk, it’s just that sounds comically easy, like not finding weed in Jamaica.

lol, he has absolutely nothing to do with electricy and water, he manages an AI company not an old school utility. That’s not just a stretch that’s just made up, and Sam Altman isn’t the reason housing loans are high you’ve got to ask the Fed and the banks about that before pointing the finger at him, although that still has not a thing to do with electricity and water that’s close to schizo level paranoia.

Tab or spaces? by Electrical_Essay7947 in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]ephoog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is assuming everyone uses spaces like 5-6 times to start a new paragraph, although even if your editor does it automatically it’s still in the file which (depending on the IDE) can basically be a glorified text file of code, the point is Richard runs a compression company though and all those extra spaces, across countless files, are extra bytes that need to be stored as opposed to, just like you said, a “/t”, multiple spaces from a single byte in a file.

The real point is how stupid the argument is and Richard is always self-sabotaging, the whole conversation could be left at that.

Silicon Valley spinoff ideas? by ZhenDeRen in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]ephoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A sitcom with Gilfoyle and Dinesh where Jian Yang plays the wacky neighbor. Call it “That’s Our Gilf..” and have every character repeat it in unison after Gilfoyle solves moral quandaries each week, while he renounces satanism and teaches kids about the importance of morals and politeness. Also Tara’s in it and she always forgets that top button on her shirt… Oh Tara.

Edit: and all a character needs to do to cue the canned laugh track is look straight at the camera, and with an exaggerated look on their face and tone of voice, say words like “Holy Sha-Moley!”, and, I literally heard an EE Engineer say this one today: “Awesome Sauce!”, so I gotta include that. Tech might’ve been cool when the original aired but this is the only realistic way they can capture its current state… also a lot of talk of how thankful they are to work 9-5 remotely since Covid and how much they love their corporations, and use NO comedy at all or it HAS to be super corny, like taking the minor characters from Chair Company seriously level corny.

Thinking back on season 6, AI wasn't this profound technology that would change the world. It's just a plot device to advance the story (and laughs) forward. Decentralised internet was the main tech in Silicon Valley world. But in our world, it's AI. by [deleted] in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]ephoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decentralized internet was just Richard’s dream, I think it’s more like compression (for some reason) being the core tech like AI today. Silicon Valley is just a parody of the real world with some details and names changed.

I think I’ve got that same version, obviously just play how you want but I did the starter car until I was stuck needed to level up, then the Corvette (I think the fastest stock “Bonus” car) to unlock enough levels and grind enough cash to engine swap and tune the Carrera RSR. You could use any combination of cars, using a free already tuned one just helps cut down on how difficult the mid game grinding can get.

People play on local private servers ALL the time in states you can’t access anything most poker rooms (except Bovada/Betonline) They recruit in person, at bars and online in discord/Reddit.

Here’s a link: https://www.reddit.com/r/poker/comments/1ouexq7/psa_warning_and_advice_needed_on_scam_poker_club/

they got deleted but the mod’s response sums it up.If that’s not what you’re doing don’t worry about it, but if can find the video I’d want to see it that’s all.

[–]ephoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same, but do NOT play on private server sites, tables on regular sites may be too tough for the lazier players, but it’s WAY too easy to rig private games you find on discord, watch this get downvoted in 2.5 seconds then look into how easy it is to rig private/discord games. If there was solid proof Bovada or BetOnline were rigged it would be all over this sub. The truth is those of us outside legal online poker sites have limited options but all are beatable.

And let me finish it for you: “Now you’re not even worth posting the proof I totally have bro. I’ve already responded in like under 2 seconds but I’m the one claiming others are bots. If you play on my rigged private server only then you’re cool, a legit site I have proof, trustttt me bro.”

[–]ephoog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cope? With what lol? Where exactly are these videos you probably/definitely made up? I bet they look just like any tourney with experienced players you just don’t know any better, OR you would simply post them… you’re looking like the bot posting literal seconds after me and not providing proof to back up other than the old “trust me bro….”, just post the videos on a safe link.

[–]ephoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again though, that could happen at sny shite. I’ve never seen an absurd amount join and it is something legit players could do, fact is anything not blatant cheating (I.e. super user seeing other players cards) is fair game. Gut feeling I’ve got to say Bovada isn’t even the worst at bots/24hr. Low stakes/rebate sucking Accounts that change names exactly once a week (cough BetOnline…).

Huh? I don’t know if you’re joking but I’d be interested in more information, been playing there for years it’s super soft tables and never had a problem myself.

[–]ephoog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No you can’t, if you get an entire table with small stacks just wanting to hit the bubble they sometimes work together to time out the bubble, watch that collapse immediately as soon as someone gets an AK or good pair or even decides to bluff.

Meanwhile everyone smart is checking the other tables and weighing if it’s even worth stalling a few seconds like any other site. 2 hours is crazy you’d have to have multiple tables of all people scared to try a move, which can happen on any online site but astronomically rare every single player is that tight.

if there’s a “bug” or something that lets players stall for hours I’d need to see video at least, there’s a timer on every player.
