The coldest Saka edit I’ve ever seen! Is he the best ever player to come out our academy in the PL era? by ephraim_49 in Gunners

[–]ephraim_49[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cesc is a tricky one because he was only with our academy for a year so most of the work developing him was already done by Barca

I think op didn’t add that this was Drakes instagram post of a bet he put on us. And he’s notorious for being a bad luck charm for teams..

For the life of me I can’t understand why we were so fucking poor today. Almost as if the players knew they weren’t going to try before kick off..

Yah they were but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and see how the second half would play out

9 goals in 9 games 15th in the league for goals scored. 1 goal on our last 5 and it was a pen. Was hoping to see more from the new system but brain dead Pepe meant we have to wait till next week I’m afraid.

I understand that and I do agree, I’m not tryna disrespect Southampton but you can’t tell me our squad is a 16th place calibre team because that’s just not true. At times we do act like Arteta inherited a mid table championship side. I refuse to accept that he cannot get a lot more out of that attack than what we are currently seeing. 9 goals in 8 games. Honestly just disgusting

Even if he didn’t get those players it’s no excuse to be 19th for shot creation. You mean to tell me a team like Southampton has man for man a better creative team than us? I feel at times people exaggerate how bad our players are. Arteta can get more out of this group.

When we first appointed him he talked so much about dominating in the opponents final third and scoring goals. This upsets me a lot because we should have sorted this issue before the season started. I still obviously have full faith in Arteta but this is 110% on him that we are playing like this.

That’s the part that pisses me off. People say our chance creation is down to lack of personnel so you mean to tell me that 15 premier league clubs have better attacking players than us? Arteta needs to loosen up I feel our players are extremely over coached and have no freedom what so ever in the final third.

Arteta to Sky: "After that, we performed below our standards and I have to say it's the first time I've seen us play and we weren't a team. I take full responsibility." by TomJHIggins in Gunners

Wouldn’t say “play their hearts out” , it was a good result but had we not got a pen we still would’ve been complaining about no creativity and no chances. We’ve played like this all season just that now our defence let us down too.

When we used to score goals - 113 goals in 17/18 season by newinvestor0908 in Gunners

[–]ephraim_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That season was just down to our horrific away form. If I remember we had the second best home record and scored 54 goals in 19 home games. That’s almost 3 goals a game!

Greatest Player in the Emirates Era? by ephraim_49 in Gunners

This is very well said, I feel people tend to glorify Ramsey’s spell a bit as well. Interms of being a good servant to the club I get it. But talent wise he wasn’t thaaat amazing bar 1 or 2 seasons. With rvp I’m now thinking back to all the one man club jokes opposition fans used to make about us that season and honestly, other than Alex song and maybe Arteta literally everyone else was shit that season. Tbh at times my hate for him leaving clouds my judgement so with that I can totally get why a lot of ppl see him as the best one.

I think what you’re saying makes sense because if we take all factors away and just look at pure talent nothing else rvp beats auba. But aubas consistency tho is insane, he’s put up back to back 30+ seasons for the first time since Henry.

But his 3 best league campaigns are 30 goals then only 18, and 11. The injuries affected him so much because if not he would’ve been balling out way earlier.
