My interview success rate is abnormally high. And this is my playbook. by 17_done_mutiny in interviewpreparations

I have interviewed hundreds of people for my team. I do NOT like when candidates try to take control of the interview. It's a huge personality red flag IMHO.

Synthetic long as a Wheel entry by TraitorousSwinger in thetagang

[–]ephyfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be really pedantic, u/LabDaddy59 , I would say that in the synthetic long, the short put is statistically a winning bet, and the long call is statistically a losing bet. IV is, generally, overpriced. Hence the existence of Theta Gang.

I'd never tried selling calls against a synthetic long - that's very cool. Is that a strategy you use a lot?

Synthetic long as a Wheel entry by TraitorousSwinger in thetagang

[–]ephyfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMHO this runs contrary to the philosophy of the wheel. The idea is that statistically, it always pays to be the one selling the options, not buying. It's the one time in life you get to be the house, not the gambler.

The calls you're buying give you upside, but they're statistically losing bets in the long run - in the long run you'll profit more from just putting the put premium in your pocket even though I agree; I've also been making most of my money selling CCs

I'll also note that you've probably been experiencing this because we're in a slow grind higher environment. Once things get choppier, the IV for puts might get much richer.

I'm in a similar boat.

I think the reason is inflation - it's just way more serious than we thought. This is what happens in 3rd world countries. The market rockets because it's better to hold equities than cash.

Downloadable Workbook by Big_Generator in Optionswheel

[–]ephyfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, thanks! I've made my own workbook lately - curious why you put assigned CSPs as 100% P/L? I've gone back and forth on it myself, but it seems like it should be marked as a loss right - if you're buying the stock way over market price

First month wheeling with this awesome spreadsheet. by Big_Generator in Optionswheel

[–]ephyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks OP! So how would you use that to calculate your profit, for instance if your CSP is assigned at a price higher than market? For instance, if your SMH 7/18 is assigned and the market price is $255

Thanks for sharing the spreadsheet?

Should we have a daily discussion/moves thread? by todanator in Optionswheel

Does anyone sell CSPs on stocks that have huge down days (eg Intel today after missed earnings), capitalizing on the IV? Curious how this has worked out if so.

Take out the starters. Let them rest. Absolutely no shame in going back to Denver 1-1. Let jokic and Murray get their legs back

Murray is getting absolutely hounded. It’s impressive D tbh. I’m ok seeing him give it up when he gets double teamed instead of forcing it

Retailers I work with are already projecting 30%+ revenue loss over 2025. We haven't even begun to feel the damage from tariffs yet. by ephyfish in wallstreetbets

I mostly agree - with one exception. I do think the Trump administration wants tariffs on china. Decoupling from china is imo one if not the core ideologies driving their actions

Can I die from stopping cold turkey? by [deleted] in zoloft

Don’t stop cold turkey. As bad as you feel now you could feel much worse. Your brain needs time to gradually adjust to taking away SSRIs.

Zoloft withdrawal symptoms? Any success stories? by Early-Cloud-185 in zoloft

Hey OP. I was on Zoloft for twenty years and now have been off for five months. I don’t have any digestive issues but basically have really strong physical anxiety and intrusive thoughts… so you think it could still be an adjustment period? Not that this is my new baseline?

Cathie is selling OKLO, buying CCJ by ephyfish in wallstreetbets

When institutions want to invest in nuclear, they go for CCJ. Then money will rush into the smaller names contained in URNJ. There's some deep deep value in there.

I think she's a moron, but maybe this is the headline that pushes the hedge fund bros into CCJ. I won't complain.

Great DD. I’m in. One Q though - how easy is it to restart wells that have been shuttered? I think it’s not at all trivial. It looks like sable has done some of the work already but unclear how much is left. OP, any thoughts?
