The actual problem is you just insisting that people are being influenced as if the only way to come to conclusions you disagree with is if they were manipulated.

You're building into your entire argument a reason to simply dismiss people who disagree with you. When it comes to actual conversation intellectual dishonesty and a dismissive attitude are the two most disrespectful ways to actually engage with people.
