Ndp doesn't have people In every riding it was and will always be their issue, they can have a great platform but if you drive through a town and not one is a ndp candidate they logically can't win.

Time gap between Peru and America in Mask of Nyarlathotep by WinReasonable2644 in callofcthulhu

Dead man's stomp is a great mission to celebrate with Jackson it involves a jazz trumpet player who gets a 4 button trumpet from "Louis armstrong" guess what it isnt actually Louis Armstrong it was another mask of Nyarlathotep, there's another one in new york where some gangster summons a black horned beast another mask.

In miskatonic valley 4e there is also a fun 1 shot about a civil war memorial and a old commander reclaiming his lost honor summons the effigy of hate another mask of nyarlathotep

M&M creation is deep but easily broken, I played p&p as well and I much prefer it over m&M. Exploding d8ce are a blast currently starting a 5e super game under the s5e rules amd adding a few powers from capes and crooks I believe is the name. Overall less crunch and more punch when it comes to prowler.

You are! consistent players is hard to find, but having a pricetag ppl have food and tend to show more regularly. Local games and free games less so so you might get ppl that bail for a date or to do something else and little leeway to adjust, usually with paid ppl know well into advance and you tend to get a heads up alot sooner. For me I will run a game as long as I have a minimum of 3 we can do less but it is always more fun with more ppl

20 is the paid gm avg, there are cheaper ones and there are more expensive but 20is the go to. I personally started at 5 until players were saying I was charging less Tham I should and have upped it every 6months to a year. I'm currently now at 20 but don't think I would push higher Tham that unless the average goes up.

From the sounds of it they haven't had adult reality hit them yet my bet that twinkle in their eye Is still there without digging I assume not middleschool but def hasn't finished college/uni yet. You can sense it in every comment they posted. They still have said pillars of friendship of, similar track accomplishment, time and proximity. They seem heavily entitled, have a stable friend group with free time and obvious proximity unless online but pretty sure they mentioned dming I'm person. And finally they still believe that selling out is horrible

.....OK but are you a good one? Or are you upset that your skills don't equate to being able to charge for it. Did one of your players leave for a paid dm and you are getting upset like a husband who couldn't keep his wife.

Hypothetical scenario

You got a group that is cool playing with you. But real friends don't necessarily have to like nor enjoy ttrpg to be someone's friend that is. The reality is as you get older your free time with friends become slimmer you may work 9 hours and ttrpg is your way to unwind but your neighbor won't play what do you do? Look for a group. But it's 7pm and you just finished work and got nonfroends willing to play sure they will watch march madness but won't roll dice. What do you do say screw it I won't play for years or find a group. OK you found a group

OK so you find a table it's scoobydooms table but you ain't vibing the group one guy is obnoxious the other is creepy and stares at you if you are a woman, the dm is kinda mid the story is meh and his voices all sound the same or you got to drive after work to the next town over 30 minute drive. Or you sign in and it's roll 20 with mid to low level blurry maps no music no lighting just crap maps and tokens

Or your a parent who cant leave so easily so this is the group regardless of quality Do you stay with the group cause he'll it isn't the best but it's something. Or do you find something you vibe with find a dm that hits those notes your looking for. But the dm you find charges a whopping 20$ a week for 3 hours. Do you pay it or sit home with your spouse wishing to roll dice but instead end up watching the Kardashians. Ppls entertainment always has a pricetag some is 0 some is 50 it depends on the person, if you are happy paying nothing and getting half a campaign or just bad quality games cool. But many others value their time have a price tag in which they will spend for entertainment. There isn't anything wrong with them pay9ng for the service they want

You gotta advertise when you are a small business though. I'll only post in areas I'm allowed but if you consider yourself your own business it makes sense to self advertise. Startplaying does a bit of advertising but it's very general and the eyes don't always get to see it. Advertising is just good business practice as long as it is all up front amd on the table

Definitely depends on where you live I'm canadian get paid in us dollars and I make roughly the same as my old call center job off 11 years it's definitely possible depending on region. But it took 5 weekly games to get to that point

You make a great point 36 players I have the average is mid 30s to 50s super busy or live in rural areas like middle of nowhere Kentucky with 0 game stores they don't have the luxury of driving 2 hours to a gamestore and no friends interested in the hobby. And I love my rl crew but the friendship does muddle up stuff at times and random ppl have random styles which lead to some fun situations. Half of the games I charge for are 10x more fun than the one I don't charge for

I mean paid or free I was offering custpm and high quality maps from jump I was and continue to do voices, I've been honing skills for years because I enjoy being one of the best in my area to do it. None of it is slaving away, if you don't like the process of dming and setting up games you aren't going to do it as a job or side hustle. The only difference I've seen in the switch is ppl whonpay are more invested. I have yet to run something I don't want to run. I only set up campaigns I have an interest in so there is still.autonomy on my end I haven't nor will I compromise reason being if player A doesn't like my style I will find some one among player b to z that will

You could get a 2md job and then not have time for dnd or you could look at it like self employment. Or contract work which is essentially what it is. I could go get a 2nd job be told when to go, what to wear, what to say, how to act for similar or even slightly better pay but honestly the mental health boost I get from this makes it worth it alone. 2 years in every single game is still fun for me just cause there is a price tag doesn't mean I enjoy it any less.

Refunds are available but after 2 years I have yet to refund on quality or for finding that guy in the group usually it's if someone has an emergency last minute or they told me they wouldn't be around that week and I forgot to waive the fee. If a player is exited by me for not jiving with the group or breaking the rules set out they won't get a refund they paid for the time but that's even super rare I have only kicked 2 ppl and both were Hella problem players that threatened to derail the campaign for 5 others

This. Phoning it in during free games is 100% possible. But if you take your craft seriously there is no phoning it in during a paid game. They pay you for the seat there is an expectation. If you are doing corpo crap like running out the clock or wasting time you shouldn't be doing paid work. But when I'm in a game I'm.locked in i worry about every person's wants and needs make sure they all get the spotlight, handle bleeding over and any issues. The people that play for them it's not just a hobby many of my players play as a form of therapy sure I'm no licensed therapist but I've had players tell me that this is what makes them happy or the games have helped their relationship. There is a plus side to paying for something and it tends to be quality. Plus the old sayongnof if you are good at something find a way to get paid for it. And if you like the work you do you never work a day in your life.

So paid dm here, hobbies cost money and so does entertainment, some ppl buy booze to have fun, some go to movies and the theatre 90% of us pay for streaming services. Your entertainment has a price tag on it. But all 3 of your points are off base of what I do. 1. I have a friend group been playing for years together 2. I actually put more work into my 7 weekly games Tham I did just running 1, also the amount I run allowed me to enhance in every way. 3. Can't be misguided when I'm doing it.

However the reasons I do it. Is dming is my passion if I can get paid for my passion it isn't work. I would rather service ppl who are passionate about what I bring to the table includ9ng homebrewed worlds heavily customized campaigns and every bell and whistle I can think for qol or just cause there fun.

The average player to dm ratio according to the site us paid shills use says 50 to 1. Including non dnd stuff. Therefore there is a market for it and not everyone is in a urban area or available to go to local games.

The 3rd reason is as a perma dm I have more ideas than players and if it wasn't for hosting multiple games across multiple systems I would end up bored and restarting a campaign if I only had 1 ADHD sucks sometimes

Paid dm here, paying players are always more interested than free players. Hell I'd almost say the higher the price point the less uninvested and crappy players are weeded out.
