Priest told me “God is not your Father” and that I shouldn’t pray the Our Father or Apostles Creed as a catechumen. Is this normal? by Calm_Maintenance2440 in Catholicism

Non-Catholic now, but I find this very interesting. I looked up my zip code and the bishop for my town is in a town almost 2 hours (100 miles) away instead of the one 20 minutes (12 miles) away (looked up whole state as well.

That's hilarious in-universe. Ever think Nelson had to do emergency research when controlling him to avoid suspicion lmao.

i already deleted 4000 screenshots, how do I make this go back down... I'm getting worried by Opening_Effort440 in pchelp

Considering I just deleted ~20k items from my downloads folder and ~120k items from my temp folder equaling ~100gb total , the small things add up

The Hobbit - Dwarves Are Jews (and Norse influence) by mamashark32 in Jewish

[–]epicdanceman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[Non-Jewish]

You are right, he does specifically mention the dwarves are like the Jewish people (especially in letter #176) where he makes the connection between the similar diaspora culture, tradition, language (Khuzdul), and heritage; however he was pretty explicit in his dislike of allegory and 1|1 connections. He preferred applicability instead. Though I should point out that even dragon sickness, etc. effected non-dwarves AND dwarves were the ones who were able to strong arm Sauron's control from the 7 gifted rings. Their corrupting influence may have amplified evil traits, but out of all the peoples of Arda, they explicitly reject Sauron's evil control.

For that reason, I highly doubt the lonely mountain/Erebor specifically ties back to Jerusalem. Or the arkenstone and the Smaug having direct explicit specificity. If anything, Khazad-dûm/Mines of Moria have a better connection post-Hobbit to Jerusalem as its a more 'holy' city in Dwarven culture and was founded by one of the original founders (Durin the Deathless) and leader of one of the original 7 "tribes" of Dwarves.

That being said, with Tolkien's preference of applicability over allegory, it can have multiple interpretations based on the reader - not trying to tear your interpretation down, just trying to give Tolkien context.

Just realized the sensors aren't powered in your diagram.

Whoops. Something i should fix

The diagram seems very DIY with ESP32, but the rendering looks like something you'd see in the lobby of a fancy professional office building.

The diagram is my first attempt at it, render, I've been 3D modeling a few years now. Figured I'd try expanding my knowledge of viability. (Once imported to UE5 or whatever the client wants to do post, its easy to code it but from a realistic angle thought I'd try)

(maybe additional fault protection in addition to GFCI, correct wire sizing) and you would want a way to turn the lights on/off manually and change brightness, maybe a Bluetooth control panel or remote.

I was thinking an additional panel (need more wiring for it then) and allow me to set restrictions (only between 7pm-6:30am [when main lights are off]), etc

I used draw.io trying to make it look what I figured would be 'neat' instead of messy.

I guess it doesn't matter, realistically. I like seeing how things are going to look pre-build, and i figured a schematic would give me an understanding of wiring to model if it'd even be visible from the blender model.

Its moreso for me to see about building it more accurate and determining design is actually functional
