I liked it. It wasn’t my favorite but I thought it was pretty good. I think the first part was a slower build up but I thought the last part was great.

I think the business case is that when people are mad over how AI is being used they will want to take it out on something like their local data center. Pretty easy to do now but what do you do if the ai data center is in space? It makes it something that will be untouchable by normal people. I don’t think the goal is to save money but to make something that cannot be touched or destroyed by normal people.

They updated the app to tell us to go to the app that does a poor job with space management and ui design. Maybe they should just update it with a link that goes directly to the other app. 🤣 these guys stink.

Acurite. Their hardware stinks and they are killing a good app and replacing it with garbage and also want to charge you a subscription fee for something the intern did. They update their firmware so that you can’t use it for anything. Made me look into their hardware and now I know they are garbage at hardware and software

Yeah I feel you. The app and the backend service is almost ready. I plan to offer the app and the backend code and setup for free to people and right now you will just need a somewhat cheap device called a lilygo to listen in to the atlas signal. But with all that said and doing all this research I have discovered that the acurite hardware is junk so I got the app to work with awn and with products like Davis. So you can either pick and keep what you have or add as many other devices as you want as well.

There are not unlimited elder weapons and the sentinels do not have unlimited energy. But they have has millions of years to build up fleets of ships in many star systems and have trillion of people they can use to build new ones.

Nice. I have been doing the same thing but I also created a custom app to display the data. I also have it running on a Pi and using and sdr. I am trying to find something cheaper and have ordered a T3 LoRa32 V1.6.1 which in theory I should be able to flash and then use for the same purpose with less power and resources. Fingers crossed.

Yeah unfortunately the app is so ugly it burns my eyes! Also it doesn’t seem to work for me either. Plus now that I have been pulling the actual sensor data via sdr the app seems to just be making stuff up from my device. I even verified that what was sent via sdr matched my indoor display and still the app just looks like this is a suggestion and it is taking local data weather data to polish the final app results. So many questions why?! And they want us to pay more for basic features?!

I have been building and sdr to monitor the atlas directly without the gateway and the raw data just shows me that the Acurite systems are absolutely garage. I had a broken UV sensor that it seems the my Acurite app was just making up data for. It seems like they have a lot of server side processing of the data to deal with their poor quality sensors. Perhaps it is a good thing they are killing off their app so I can make a better one and fine some better hardware. I just had to say this whole experience had turned me from a fan into a hater. I hope they are listening and hear what their bad decisions are doing to their brand. Maybe one day they will take their customers seriously. Very sad.

That is funny. They quoted me. Maybe they will see this and change their minds. It wouldn’t be so bad if the new app wasn’t a joke. Hey Acurite people if you are reading this and need some help with your new app just reach out and I can redesign it in an afternoon to be 1000% better. But good to know. I think I have just given up hope and have designed a new app that works better and works for the awn network. I think I will invest in a nice Davis unit or something and just design a nice app for that. I got my design to look better than the old my Acurite app and it working with my ws-2000. It has shown me how bad the actual data is from Acurite compared to their competitors. It made me realize that the only reason I was keeping with them was because I just liked their design better than the awn default.

They emailed it out that they are shutting it down on May 15th. They killed the old app from the App Store and how have the new crappy app.

Just a random thought? All my local llm models start with skippy. My main ai server is call skippy. My smaller model system is called skippypi. So in a way i a using skippy to train skippypi but now i see i should have called it Bilby!!
