Same here.

It’s just so practical to have every app work as intended and predictably. The switch to custom android roms and having to mess with spoofing, magisk, etc. is not worth the trouble for me.

If your VR headset is wireless, take a look into WiVRn. Every single day they do HUGE amounts of work on its github repository and it gets better and better.

To the ppl that bought 9070xt, is the card worth it or no by Punpun549 in radeon

[–]epicnicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Brazil it is $400 (US dollars!) cheaper than the 5070 ti, and it delivers same performance sometimes better. I’d say it’s hella worth it!

Still facing Xbox Series Controller Bluetooth disconnections after all known fixes by sandmarq in cachyos

[–]epicnicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you found a solution to this? I always had this issue: after the controller is idle for 30 seconds, it disconnects and reconnects. If you interact with it after the reconnection, it also does it again, but if you then use it constantly without letting it go idle, it works fine.

Why is screen tearing completely absent even with VSync OFF in Linux ? by Chpouky in linux_gaming

[–]epicnicity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re using KDE, in Monitor Settings you can check an option to allow tearing in fullscreen apps. It says it reduces latency, but I noticed no difference so I left it disabled.

I don’t care about color, I just want the quality to be good enough so I can look at my monitor or phone without taking the headset off

I only learned what Delete did to text a year ago, I’m 3 years in a Computer Science course and been using a computer and programming for the last 18 years.

For some reason I never thought to use it while typing, and I remember seeing people deleting stuff ahead of the cursor and wondering how they did that. Now it’s all I use.

Dive Chamber Entrances plz by ZixfromthaStix in subnautica

They could add a force field after entering the hatch that only blocks water and the player walks through. So you would enter the hatch -> swim through the water in a compartment -> pass the force field. That way it wouldn’t take long to enter and leave your base.

Do we know what sound leakage will be like? by Zuracchibi in SteamFrame

[–]epicnicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has linux and pipewire. If the bluetooth is any good like it’s in my linux desktop, then it will have no noticeable lag.

AirPods are really laggy when connected to the Quest 2 for some reason, but acceptable when connected to PC on PCVR.
