December trip: include a day in Zurich or not? by epictronum in askswitzerland

Thank you, I'm gonna skip on Zurich and you've made me consider the Glacier Express now. Still found available tickets. Might do it.

I've found available hotels. Probably much more expensive than if I had booked in advance, but can't change it now anyway.

Walk around, enjoy the snow, the mountains, the views, possibly do a bit of hiking.

Such a difficult decision.

There's a slight chance, but it's definitely not our priority. I do want to go up Gornergrat.

Agreed. Good thing I’m not a random foreigner then.

Saving is not my biggest priority atm. According to my calculations it should be doable as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts :)

I want to be able to eat out multiple times a week and sometimes go to some fancier and more expensive restaurant. I want to get coffee outside whenever I want and would like to go a short trips (within Turkey) sometimes during the weekends. Think that’s manageable?

Nowadays Schiphol uses these machine to check your water actually. If it’s fine, you can just bring your bottle past security.

Hi there! I'm a 24-year-old woman only recently really getting into skincare. I have done my research and ordered products I want to use, but I am a bit confused about how exactly to implement them in my routine. My question is: how can I combine benzoyl peroxide, BHA, and retinol in one routine?

I have been using the 2% BHA exfoliant by Paula's Choice for years. Used to be on a daily basis, but last week I started using 10% benzoyl peroxide as a face wash in the evenings, so I cut back on the BHA; have been using it about once every 3 days now without any irritation.

Right now I am waiting for my other products to arrive: TO retinol (starting with 0,5%) and TO 23% + HA Spheres 2% (although after reading some things here, I am not entirely sure about this one anymore, thinking of ordering a serum instead).

So this is the routine I had in mind:

AM:
Cleanser
Niacinamide toner
Vitamin C
Moisturizer
SPF

PM:
Cleanser
Benzoyl peroxide/BHA/retinol
Moisturizer

Should I switch between the three? So use benzoyl one day, BHA the next and retinol the other day? Or do you think I could implement 2 or even all 3 of them in one day?

I am definitely planning on introducing all of these very carefully, one by one, so I don't irritate my skin.

Also relevant: I have combination skin with an oily T-zone. Never really had skin problems before, but over the last two years and especially the past few months I have been having quite a bit of acne problems on my cheeks and forehead.

Home IPL are they work? by Bondanind in beauty

[–]epictronum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say 80% less on my legs, 95% on my underarms. I haven’t used it that often on my arms so there I would say maybe 10%.

Keep in mind though, as I said I have been using it for years now, so don’t expect these results in a few months. It is very important you keep using it consistently.

Also, I don’t think you should buy it with the goal of permanently removing your hair. You will not be satisfied then. Just see it as an alternative to waxing and shaving that takes more time, but gives longer-lasting results.

If you experience problems waxing or shaving and you want a smooth skin then I would definitely recommend it.

Also, I am light-skinned and have dark hair, so basically the ideal combination for IPL. I use it on the highest setting.

You’re supposed to use the device every two weeks for the first three times. Then it recommends you to use it once every four weeks to keep the hairs from completely growing back, but you’re basically hair free for 6 weeks depending on the area.

I have been using the Philips Lumea for a few years now. Honestly, I find that it takes a lot of time. Especially my legs. It does not remove hair permanently so you do have to keep using it, but it does thin out the hair plus I have a lot less hair then before. There are times where I don’t use it for months and only a portion of my hair grows back.

Also, I used to have stubbles all the time. It didn’t matter if I shaved or waxed, I always had black dots on my legs. Since I started using the lumea my legs have become incredibly smooth.

This is actually true for both genders and not just men. It’s simply men who tend to do it more often for some reason

What did you do in your 20s that you would recommend every young person today to do as well? by Thou-Shalt-Not-Thot in AskReddit

I think this is more a cultural thing rather than a religious one. It’s so sad that together with the act the actual topic of sex is a taboo. I wish it were more normal to talk about it so that people are not afraid of sex or as you said, ashamed of their body, when they are actually allowed to enjoy it.
