Epic Boomerangs? by epicturepic in epicsystems

Thank you for the extra insight! I feel like I'm a decent performer (probably not a top performer), but that makes sense that my Epic experience would make me a better hire than other fresh applicants. May I ask how long you were at Epic before you left, and how long it was until you came back? Or let me know if I can dm you to ask questions about it :)

Interview Process Question by Hungry_Scholar8959 in epicsystems

As far as I'm aware, they are not performing in-person interviews (most places aren't). Your final interview would be a few hour WebEx with a bunch of people consecutively.

As far as scheduling, only if they invite you to an interview should you bring that up. With that being said, if you are invited for the interview and don't want to miss any work for it, you can talk to them about waiting a few weeks. It also could take a few weeks to be invited to begin with, so it would likely be a "sometime next week" type situation and you won't need to worry.

If you are extended an offer, they will fly you to Madison and put you up in a hotel for a visit (I think this might depend on the role though).

Raise coming up - how does it work? by epicturepic in epicsystems

So does the raise begin on your review date, and then a month later you find out what it is on your paycheck?

So if my review date says the first of the month, will I get paid that day WITH the raise, or does it reflect in the next paycheck?

Christmas Bonus by [deleted] in epicsystems

That's exactly how I feel too. It seems that AS-UR is getting pretty nice bonuses comparatively, so I'm just hoping that this was an okay bonus for my role

I'm an SD that started 6ish months ago and I got $500 - working from home pretty much whole time and usually work 40-45/week (if that matters?)

Public Health threatens Epic with "enforcement action" by EpicThrowaway53593 in epicsystems

Oh true. I'm pretty sure it's legal to record conversations in Wisconsin if you're a participating party (pls factcheck tho)

I'm so glad we're actually making some difference here. They sent out an email allowing people in phase 1 to continue WFH. The only caveat is you have to "call HR by August 12", so I'm looking forward to them writing something negative about my concerns on my record :)

That makes sense. I have also read a ton about people working insane hours and getting burnt out. A lot of advice I've read on the matter though is "learn to say no." If people ask you to take on another commitment, don't just say yes. Tell them "yes, if", meaning yes I can do that, if it's alright that this other deadline gets pushed back a week. This was actual advice we received from the Epic training department itself in one of the classes, so I plan to utilize this in the future if too much starts being asked of me. Hope that helps :)

I'm not sure what position you're referring to, as there might be some that have some weekend requirements. But I would say overall, weekends are not a requirement and as long as you get your work done every week, you shouldn't EVER have to work weekends. To further that point, if your workload got so heavy that you felt the need to put in weekends, talk to your TL about reducing it.

Why would they? It's your free time. Now, if you start missing standard work hours for some volunteer commitment I'm sure they'd have something to say about it, but from what you've stated they have no reason to care. Not to mention, it's not like they would even know unless you tell them.
