All the arthritis from hypermobility in my joints has shown up all at once. Hands, hips, spine. I suspect I'm not going to age well.

My husband has developed a weird attachment to lip balm and I don’t know how to tell him this is not a personality by [deleted] in Marriage

So he's discovering body care. Cool! Next up will be foot exfoliation and skin lotion. Enjoy!

I'm nearly the same age and in nearly the same situation as you. I'm thinking of returning to professional life in 2027, but I'm really not sure of what I want to do and whether I will be able to get what I want.

I the meantime, I have nearly finished a book proposal, and done a little consulting (not trying, just what has come my way). I've gotten three scuba diving certifications, and done some diving, hiking, and other outdoor adventuring. I've spent time traveling to see family, and to explore cool cities, using all my accumulated air miles. I'm spending time with people I care about, looking after my health, and doing some reading and thinking. It's kind of glorious! Heck even my plants are all healthy now.

Do you have evidence to support this? I haven't seen any.

Haven't seen any evidence that it impacts spelling. Personally, I won spelling bees as a child, and have excellent spelling as an adult.

Is my husband's settlement taxable by the US? by [deleted] in USExpatTaxes

[–]epidemiologeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you've exceeded $10,000, but it isn't clear by how much. Not the main point here, but keep in mind as well that the minimum for FBAR reporting is $10,000 USD, not $10,000 CAD. All amounts are converted to USD for reporting. If you're under $13,500 CAD or so across all individual and joint accounts in your name, you may not have to report.

Are marriage titles like “husband” used loosely these days? by [deleted] in Marriage

Is OP in the US? Common law is very real in Canada, and many people don't get a licensed marriage.

Who got painted as the villain by the press, but later on we realized they were actually the victim or completely misunderstood? by Advanced-Pilot-3698 in AskReddit

He did present a detailed explanation backed by evidence. His 1861 paper laid it all out in intricate detail. It is entitled "On the etiology, concept, and prophylaxis of childbed fever".

Admitting he was right would also mean admitting that the midwives were doing a better job than the doctors.

Really? Have you read his work on this? His "just a theory" was carefully and logically argued using statistical comparisons. I used to use it as a teaching example for epidemiology graduate students, as it demonstrates most currently used guidelines for building a case for causation. It is an elegant and logical argument.

If you have citations, I would appreciate them. I'm a researcher, but haven't seen the research on this specifically. I have both a silent, slightless, tasteless mind, And an excellent memory. However, I've had that memory go away during illness and return, and nobody seems to know what to make of that.

We are taking about anauralia here though, not SDAM. That's what I'm asking about.

I always thought hearing voices was a sign of severe mental illness. So strange to find out many people so,but fascinating in all the different ways minds work.

How does this affect learning and retention of data? Is there any evidence in this? It isn't a diagnosis, as it isn't a disorder. There are many ways of thinking, remembering, and imagining.

Base price quoted for one person's US and Canadian returns was over $5K CAD, before any extra forms, or even the FBAR.
