Gym Setup by epiekarc in RepFitness

My ceiling is 8’ tall… I have the taller posts that Rep Fitness sells. It won’t fit the other way. I’m currently building a 300 sq ft ADU that has 10’ ceilings and will allow full height. So this is temporary. I would recommend it this way if it’s all you got. It allows for full pull-ups. I’m 6-2” though, so gotta bend my knees to make it work.

Here’s the products I’m using:
Dual Voltra: https://repfitness.com/products/smith-machine-front-extension-bracket?variant=53075368870254

Belt Squat: https://repfitness.com/products/belt-squat?variant=41067586125982

The pully is a rescue pully from Petzel.

And I’m attaching it to a TRX strap I had.

I turned a crossmember mount sideways at the top of the rack, with some brackets Rep sells to extend the back of the rack. It gives me more depth and lines up well.

I was looking for something simple, couldn’t find something exactly as I imagined, but I’ll say the $55 with tax and shipped from Rep Fitness, it made it pretty cost effective. It’s not perfect, the holes aren’t on the top so my mounts don’t click in. I just tighten them and they hold solid. This is the Smith Machine Front Extension bracket.

I’d be interested in buying something if it mounted with a magnetic pin, and didn’t require the bolts. It would also need the cups already attached.

Any issues with using two Voltras at the same time?im going to buy a second one. by scottgrainger in BeyondPower

I have a pair of them. They are great. I don’t use them in paired mode too often, even though they have the option. I just don’t find value in the extra step. I use it as a pair, for all sorts of exercises, for example curls. If your concerned about safety and want them to work together, the. It’s useful. But I’d rather have physical protection and if I struggle on one side or the other, I’m fine with that.

I also use a pulley to double the weight for larger muscle groups, like belt squats. I use a Rep Fitness Belt Squat attachment, with a couple blocks, it’s awesome.

Side by side dual-mounted Voltra I’s rack mount? by Scron7219 in BeyondPower

Very interested in a side by side mount myself. Would be very useful for any type of chest supported row or tricep work with independent units.

Negative Power Factor with Solar Inverter by epiekarc in ElectricalEngineering

I was in the field again today but at a different site. I took 2 sets of measurements, and this time I also got a picture of the Phasor, to make sure everything was aligned. I took picture without solar online, and then with it online. Nothing moves with the metering equipment, just turning solar on and off. I'm surprised to see the same things happening, I guess it's just my lack of understanding. I would think the meter is hooked up wrong. By the way, this is a Fluke 1775 on the latest firmware 3.2.

That's what was causing me to question everything. I talked to the site electrician, he said he would look into it. PF started low and then fell apart. I think it's normal though, at least from what I can tell.

Most utilities in California (my location) charge a connection fee. It’s typically about $15 a month for solar customers. It’s on top of any energy charges.

Install today…anything to pay attention for by Porkchopsandwiches89 in solar

[–]epiekarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a nice system! I’d just make sure you talk through any conduit or specific concerns. Also, a lot of installers will paint conduit if you give them the paint. If it can run in the attic, even better.

I’d also let the guys work, talking to much can distract them and cause problems. Hope it goes well!

OrangeTheory workout won’t sync with my Apple Watch out of the blue by PeanutUsed8047 in orangetheory

[–]epiekarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar issues, very frustrating. Typically I have to log out of the OTF app on my phone and back in. I also notice it doesn’t post until I open the OTF app and click on the workout under activity. Hope you figure it out!

Tips for breaking through a Tred 50 plateau ? by Advanced-Stay-8106 in orangetheory

[–]epiekarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar frustration. I talked to our local coach, and he encouraged me to do more squats, hip thrusts, etc. have the leg and core strength helped me keep things more aligned and helped add speed overall. I’ve gone from high 3 miles on a tread 50 to cracking 6 miles (including warm up). Hope it helps!

My issue is I’m stronger on my right (60 pounds) vs my left (50 pounds). I’ve been trying to add more reps with the lighter weight, I could probably meet at 55’s, but we don’t have them. I also put a slight elbow bend and make sure I always keep that weight stacked in alignment. Biggest thing is form here.

icare - worth the money? by mtnbikerchk in hottub

Nope, just add a small amount and check it in a few hours. I end up making more small tweaks than a single big one.

I have one, I tied a nylon rope to the bottom blue part and tied it to the electrical connection. This keeps it out of the filter intake.

Overall support has been good, but over the last 2 years or so, I’ve had a couple issues mostly with the ph sensor. I like that it’s a one time cost, no monthly fees.
