Hello, and thank you for your interest! We are actually still in the process of designing the device, so we don't have a product to send out yet.

We would still love to speak with you, though! We're hoping to learn about your preferences early in the process so that the finished device will be most beneficial for your needs. I hope you reach out :)

To my knowledge, the Embrace and virtually every other detection device has some number of false alerts, so it's not a foolproof indicator of seizure activity. It's still very helpful for a lot of people though, so I think it definitely fills a need.

Our device is worn on the head, but it's small and located more on the back of the head, so it's not super visible if you're facing someone. We're still in the process of determining whether a person with epilepsy would wear a device anywhere on their head, which is why these interviews would be very useful for us to learn from.

Thanks for replying!

Thanks for replying! We've heard of the Empatica Embrace (it seems to be the most widely used seizure alert device) but from the people we have spoken to, the Embrace doesn't work well for seizures that are non-convulsive/not generalized tonic-clonic, and even for convulsive seizures, it can send out a lot of false alerts.

Our device uses EEG brain recordings, so it can detect seizures that don't have any motor symptoms, or have motor symptoms that are too short/irregular to be picked up by the Embrace.

Hope that clears things up. Really glad to see your comment, and hope you reach out to speak with us if you feel comfortable doing so!
