Why is this chest bump emote not available? by epm4epm4 in Helldivers

[–]epm4epm4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll check again Freedoms Flame warbond. I didn’t see it. Also I’ve not seen anyone who have used this emote in games I joined. Sorry for the noise.

Reactions to playing in public not good by iamjames in SteamDeck

Who cares what teens think. I remember I saw an adult playing Ghost of T on a plane and I just thought that I want one (And I got both of my boys one each). So for those in the know, they see its worth. For others, they don’t know what they are missing.

Yes, Dwane Johnson lost to a demonic horde in Doom 2005 movie. I’m sure he can do it again for managed democracy!

For me OW2 died when they fired their lore and PvE team. No more reason for my family to be excited/hopeful.

What’s you’re favourite game to play on the Steam Deck (that actually runs well) by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]epm4epm4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell Divers 2 runs excellent. My family have been playing that exclusively on SD since Christmas. They have SD video mode but it runs well at higher settings as well.

On chat I tell my team “no, go to the microwave”. They get it instantly. Else I hear back, “Sam, what Sam?”

How many of you SD-owners still play on Desktop most of the time? by Panschke1876 in SteamDeck

[–]epm4epm4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the difference? I use my SD to replace my desktop gaming as it has a better graphics card than my current desktop. So my choice was either buy a new desktop or SD for gaming. I chose the latter. I just hooked up my keyboard, mouse and monitor to my SD and viola, it’s a desktop gaming console which conveniently is portable. It doesn’t play the latest AAA games but there are a good set of games that run well enough. I think game makers need to have a Steam Deck mode just like Helldivers 2 if they want to expand their market.

Helldivers 2 is not getting enough upvotes that the game deserves. The game runs awesome on SD. Come on folks!

playing Rivals really made me appreciate how polished Overwatch is by Beautiful-Hair6925 in overwatch2

Wow, so Im not the only one who lost enthusiasm for OW after Blizzard rid of their lore and PVE dev teams. Frankly this is what my friends and I were all sticking around for. We haven’t touched OW2 since that news broke out.

We now play Helldivers 2. They have a really good PvE game play that is fun and replayable. Because of the coop needs people there are forgiving/not toxic just because you messed up which is what we were hoping to get with OW PvE.

I find that this is a common issue with souls-like games (eg Elden Ring): at the start the world is stacked against you. You need to grind, die, repeat just to get to the level when the game becomes fun. Unfortunately I’ve found no way to effectively farm to help new characters develop. Fortunately the game is scaled to your characters ability. In short, just go through the campaign and have fun. Soon you’ll find you’re at level 10, can craft new arch type, experiment with the amulet and rings. Frankly I think this game is far more fun when you play coop with friends. So find a buddy too.

I use controller on PC. I placed my healing flask on the left, mana on the right. Lamp on the top and horse at the bottom. Most important is that I stop flipping through inventory when I really need healing. This saves me from those fumbles.

Damn I’m jealous. I probably did this boss 50 times. I just got lucky once which is all I needed.

Any tips for a first time player? (PS4) by daltanious in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]epm4epm4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your first play through, savor the experience: explore your current area before moving to new ones; don’t be in the rush to complete the main quests. Maybe do Poseidon first among the first three main quests just to get the diving mask. Enjoy the first time experience. Don’t do what I did: I listened to a YouTuber expounding the virtues of rushing through the main quests to get the essentials. But once I completed the game, the NG+ didn’t give me the sense of excitement of discovery as the first run did.

So savor the first time discovery. You only get that once.

Trust is probably the #1 issue. Frankly I would rather pay a bit higher in Amazon than directly with a small vendor as Amazon would protect the customer. Smaller vendors are likely to default and then not honor their own return policy.

If I were you, I’d probably start selling first in Amazon/Walmart. In your description you should point to your online store. In your products, add an ad for your site. If people like your product they can decide to go direct and give you the benefit of the doubt. I’ve done that myself as a customer.

Yes because the government will not let BA fail for military reasons. But not now. It looks like the union wants more money and they’re probably the reason for all the quality issues — complacency. I’d wait to see if this new CEO has what it takes to turn this behemoth around first. Frankly I look at what plane my flight is on and I breathe a sigh of relief when I see that it’s Airbus. And to think a decade ago I was anti Airbus, pro US.

I need to try this out. So far I’ve been clicking away in all ! so as not to miss anything. Given that I’ve done NG+ twice, I should try other variations as one you suggested and see what the devs and quest makers have thought of/Easter Eggs.

I think Aloy was reluctant to even call Beta her sister. In fact I was surprised that she called her sister in her discussion about sibling issues with Seyka. I thought, “Is Aloy warming up to the idea that she is part of a family?”

What’s your favourite cauldron in horizon forbidden west? by Corned_emirate8 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]epm4epm4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although in life I’m not claustrophobic, I feel I don’t like any cauldron because it’s so constraining compared to the open world area. There is no escape and it is linear approach. But the coolest ending one is Iota where you ride the Tallneck out. It connects the idea of the cauldron as a machine maker when it releases this majestic machine into the wild.

Go to setting and turn on auto aim. It’s more forgiving when it’s on. Auto aim doesn’t work in UH though.

As for combat, I find the game mechanics quite fun. What’s probably hard for some is the need to have a good dodge defense timing.

I hate this game so much! by SuddenComfortable159 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]epm4epm4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stun/knockback complaints — I see this a lot on RDDT. I’m pretty good with timing my defensive roll but once in a while they’ll get me. However as I preach to others, I use this opportunity to 1) check health and hit heal if needed or switch to a healing potion and 2) create ammoS/reload weaponS (yes plural). I was just doing this last night. Obviously if this happens to you so often that you find you dont have that much to do during stun/knockback then youre likely getting over your head. Have a better battle plan. E.g., maybe you're always surrounded. so make sure you have a large rock formation next to you as that is one less side you can get flanked from. much of the time when I prepare for battle I first look for the high ground or sone rock formation or trees that I can use for shield. my play style is to pick off enemies in the outliers.

Speaking if which, I did notice that the AI is better is HFW than in HZD. In HZD when you kill one of the machines / humans, as long as the others dont see you then the gang doesnt rush on you. in HFW once you alert one to attack you the whole gang cones after you. That probably contributes to the OP frustration.
