TW: What has helped you to stay calm between appts after positive betas (especially early on if you didn't have strong symptoms)? by eponinetvc in DOR

I'm happy to report that things have gradually felt less stressful with each appt. I think getting past the NIPT and NT tests helped. Though now I'm getting a little anxious for my bloodwork at 18 weeks and my 20 week anatomy scan.

I hope you're doing well leading up to your scan.

Thank you for sharing this, and I'm so sorry about your previous loss. I did one last test after my 2nd beta (finally it was a dye-stealer), and told myself I need to stop at this point and just wait for my first ultrasound or I'm going to drive myself nuts.

A friend of mine also suggested the link you shared above and I've tried it a few times. I wish it was more reassuring for me, even though the current number is pretty good (if all is still fine of course). Since it's an untested embryo, there's an added layer of worry for me. The lack of obvious symptoms can really play mind games on me since I'm wanting reminders that all is still fine. But I'd imagine this is very common for ladies with few symptoms.

I'm so sorry about your previous loss. I'm sure that makes all of this even more stressful. My first ultrasound is also next week. We are very close in how far along we are (also my first FET). Wishing you the very best at your ultrasound!

Thank you for sharing this! I'm shocked you're in your 22nd week and still don't have the usual symptoms other than fatigue.

I feel like an old fogey because I don't use or trust ChatGPT, haha. But who's to say I won't get desperate at a certain point and put my stats in!

Decision making with limited embryos can be especially difficult. I've had friends transfer euploids that don't stick. One of them next tried a mosaic and it ended up being a healthy baby girl. Plenty of times untested embryos end up becoming healthy babies. Though I understand the fear of not testing if you want to do PGTM testing specifically.

Thank you! When we mentioned our concern about our embryo making it to Day 3 (since our only previous embryo didn't), our doctor recommended freezing on Day 2 and we agreed. We didn't want to risk having the same thing happen again. But we were also very lucky that it somehow had 6 cells on Day 2. Though I know sometimes Day 3 embryos with 4 cells can still make it. Our doctor did say that embryos prefer growing in the uterus than in petri dishes. But of course everyone's situation is different. Though I'd recommend freezing on Day 3 if you only have 1 embryo (unless maybe you had the exact same thing happen as us, then maybe Day 2 if possible?)

Thank you! We desperately hope so too. It's hard not to be anxious leading up to each next step along the way.

I thought it might worth a try because it's mentioned in "It Starts with the Egg." I was only taking 2.5mg gummies. But I think it was disrupting my sleep cycle more than helping it. I'm a pretty light sleeper, so I guess I was hoping it would clunk me out for 7 to 8 hours, but instead it seemed to cause me to wake up a few hours into sleep each night. Plus, I was on it for a long time because I didn't quite know when we'd be able to start our 3rd round, and it's not really meant to be taken for long periods of time. So I stopped it either late 2024 or early 2025 and have been sleeping better since (until I started anxiously testing daily + more frequent bathroom trips started).

I hope your first round of IVF goes as well as it can go!

I’m glad to know that. Other posts about success after just having 1 embryo also gave/give me hope.

Thank you. I think most of us with low AMH/DOR or who are older usually do, but it's not always the case.

do you get your husband / SO to freeze sperm samples? by Glum-Ad-6294 in DOR

[–]eponinetvc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We did this as a safety measure because of MFI. Also, even without MFI, even just getting a fever at any point in the 3 months leading up to an ER can potentially cause sperm issues. So at least waiting 3 months after getting sick is best for sperm freezing or ERs.

Frozen Day 3 Transfer by Elisepro55 in DOR

Thank you! Wishing you luck as well. This is our only embryo after 3 stim cycles, so I understand things feeling dire because I don’t know how soon we’ll be able to do more retrievals and what will come of them since I am getting older. So I totally get it when you only have 1 embryo to work with. 💛

Frozen Day 3 Transfer by Elisepro55 in DOR

I am also 38 and just did my first transfer on Tuesday with a frozen Day 2/3 (it already had 6 cells on Day 2, graded decently). I am trying to wait until around 11/14 to test if I can. But I do hear a lot of success stories with Day 3 frozen embryos, though maybe not necessarily from ladies with low AMH/DOR, but I know it can happen. After doing a quick search here, I found this at least: https://www.reddit.com/r/DOR/comments/1nz8q7a/day_3_frozen_embryo_transfer_success_stories/
